Gyna sighed in relief as the captain announced that they would reach their destination in 15 minutes. She hoped her parents remembered to pick her up, or at least send Mikey over or she'll have to call a cab. Mikey woke up to the sound of music, his stereo waking him up with led zeppelin. he got up, stumbled to the bathroom, did his shit shower shave routine as quickly as possible, threw on jeans and a tee shirt and was downstairs with plenty of time to grab a bite to eat on his way out the door.

I looked down at the "card." More of a booklet than a single picture. All I could see was a picture of G in a red Santa hat with a finger over her lips. The rest was folded over.

"I don't care what is in those pictures. It is nothing we cannot handle together - as a family. Now, go get your sister, and your mother and I will decide what to do about this."

Mikey left the house, the door slamming behind him. My wife sat down next to me, and I reached out, and picked up the booklet, my hand shaking.

"Final descent" the captain announced over the speakers as the plane angled towards the ground. After a few minutes, Gyna was home. She couldn't help but smile as she grabbed her duffle bag and headed for the baggage claim, hoping someone was already at the gate waiting to welcome her.

Mikey drove round the terminal twice before he spotted her. Bags in hand, looking around for a friendly familiar face. "Well, the way I see things, we have a couple of options."

Start with the bad ones first.

"Throw G. out and disown her...but I don't want that, and I'm pretty sure you don't either. No matter if she is a..."

I thought briefly, then continued.

"Second, I guess we can pretend it never happened, but I'm not that good an actor. Do you have a third or fourth option?"
