Many years ago one man had a wonderful life, he was a scientist his name was Peyton Westlake. A man that was trying to make skin for victims that were hurt and beat up and wanting to cover up scars, victims that were burned was the reason Peyton started his project but anyone that needed the skin it was for them regardless. But the skin did not last very long, it lasted only about six hours before the cells break down and pool in acid form. Unfortunately a man that was dangerous a man no one fucked with, a man that's name was Robert G. Durant, with his friends went to Peyton's lab and blew it up with Peyton in it. He was thrown from the building and right into the river. When someone found him in the river he was found burned from the head to toe. When he woke up he was full of rage and managed to get out of the hospital. When he went back to his lab and anything not destroyed he put into a shopping cart and he took it all. When he found bandages he used them to cover him and thankfully he had enough to use on himself. Because of what happened he ended up leaving his wife of twenty years, because even though he loved her still.
To him it was not fair that this happened to her, so he said his goodbyes. But his wife had begged him to just stay with her that they would deal with this together. Because of his skin he has the ability to look like anyone he wants to, mostly he uses his skin to look the way he use to, but to slip away from his wife he blended into the crowed and lost her in the crowed. It was a hard thing to do but he thought it was best, so he watched out for her and when he found out that she put him as dead that she had moved on finally and met someone else and even though she did not forget about him, she moved on. It was hard to forget his high school sweetheart but he stayed away, so now he was a man who lived in the part of a sewer that he called home. A part that didn't smell and he actually had it all set up like a normal home. But as time passed, he kept thinking about one woman who had moved out of the city, and even though she was younger then him was completely intelligent. He began to wonder what she was up to, and because his ex wife did not know about her, she never learned about his accident or if she had that she did not know how bad off he was.
The man was lonely and it kept making him think about his friend, her name was Katniss Smith but he always just called her Kat. When he got back in touch with her she was so glad to hear from him. She kept thinking about him and even wrote him, unfortunately because he was no longer with his wife she didn't get anywhere with trying to find him again. Her cell phone number had never changed but where she lived that address changed one more time. She went back to New York City, and was looking for him. Thankfully the city is huge and doesn't bump into people he doesn't want to, but Kat had no idea just what happened after she left. She found out about the lab because she went back to the lab looking for him. When someone told her what happened it scared her, which was why she was grateful that they were talking now. It was nice to be with him again Peyton was such a nice guy, he may have been older then her but she did not care about it. And she was surprised yet thankfully that he had not changed, when they saw each other again she couldn't help but just hug him close to her, grateful that he was okay, but she had no idea just how bad he was in truth.
When he was brought to a hospital and subjected to a radical treatment which cuts the nerves of the spinothalamic tract, so physical pain is no longer felt. He lost his tactile sensation. The loss of this sensory input gives him enhanced strength due to adrenal overload and keeps his injuries from incapacitating him, but its absence also mentally destabilizes him. But makes him one hell of a body guard, they had spent months together and because of age she doesn't hit on him, though in the back of her mind she wanted him to do it, when she had heard he no longer was with his wife she didn't know how he felt about her. So just kept it down to friends. But she had no idea just how much he wanted to be with her, and even though he would never want to have sex with her without the skin making him look normal, he still wanted her to know. So on the night of there anniversary of the day that they met six years ago, he was going to tell her. Kat knew he wanted to talk, what about she did not know and was nervous. He had been over there before, but he seemed serious like something was bothering him so when she heard the knock at the door she went to answer it, she was in a black dress, wanting to look nice for him.
"Hey Peyton come on in" She said softly opening up the door and moving so he could come in, she took his coat and he looked good like he always had. She offered him something to drink and got a couple glasses of his favorite wine. She gave him a glass and sat down with her own and silently sighed, her green eyes looked at him and was curious if everything was okay.
"You wanted to talk?" She asked softly.
