Javen:

I sat quietly at the table, looking across the room at the balcony where the Prince stood, looking out at the night sky.
"Thinking about something I should know about?" The Prince asked, turning to him.
I just shook my head.
"No?" the Prince asked, "I should have guessed you planned to push me over the edge. It wouldn't kill me, of course, but wouldn't watching me fall bring you great pleasure?"
"Whatever do you mean?" I asked, playing dumb.
He just stared at me for a moment, then shook his head, "Rambling, that's all."
He wandered back in, placing his goblet on the tabletop and filling it from the picture.
"How many have you had?"
"This is my third," the Prince replied. "I'm drinking for pleasure now, not sustenance."
I nodded, then took a long drink from my own goblet.
"Do you often kill your own?"
I shook my head. "Not often, no, only if I'm faced with an insatiable craving."
"Insatiable craving? You never crave the kill?"
"I'll save it for the battlefield."
It was the Prince's turn to nod then. Volmorth then placed his goblet on the table and went to the balcony again, this time stepping off the edge and falling out of sight. He would search the herd and find one that met his pleasing. THen bring her back with him, talking sweetly to her, telling her she was safe with him. Many would believe him. Humans were often gullible; foolish. They believed the world revolved around them, when at least on the island, they were kept alive to breed, to ensure that we would have future stores of food, and that was their existance here.
The wolves on the other hand. Their existnce was more of a nuisance...

OOO: that's a start...If you're new to the thread, check out the thread called: Casting Call: Something supernatural. That's where we're settig up our profiles and such. You can list your profile here, but others will be in that thread...

Deric stopped and sniffed the air, his prey was out there and she was all alone. She had given him the slip more than once and he was getting hungry. He ran towards the largest group of bushes and as soon as he did a group of people ran out of it screaming. He looked at them and growled then said, "It is not you I am after, run."

The group of humans ran off, not looking back as Deric raised his nose and sniffed the air again. There! she was off to the right, less than a mile away. He got onto all fours and ran in that direction, his mouth watering at the thought of the meal he was going to have. He could almost taste her blood on his mouth. He then stopped and as soon as he did saw some movement seconds before her form flew past him.

He turned, his lips turned into a smile which showed all of his teeth seconds before he ran after the fast moving form. He saw her bound into some bushes and could now hear her heartbeat; she was getting tired. She then stopped and Deric knew he had her. He jumped into the bushes and the last two things that were heard from the bushes was the scream of a deer, the snap of a neck and the howl of a wolf.

Cassandra (Casey)

Casey lay in a restless sleep, her petite form beneath the light sheet twisting and turning. The breeze into the city off the water was cool and filled her dark loft apartment through the open window. The nightmares were statring again, but this time they were more intense and frequent, but always the same.
She had been brought to help them, to communicate with them. Now she was running, looking behind her, unable to catch her breath. He would appear before her like always, dark and luminous. She would be unable to move, unable to speak. He had been the one who had sought her out, and as he reached towards her she would awaken in a cold sweat screaming.
Tonight was no different as she bolted upright, her heart promising to explode from her chest. She gasped for air. Casey looked out the small window as she sat on the bed, the dream still very much with her. Why were they happening again?

Javen

"you've been with him," Jade said.
"Yes," I replied.
"Where is he now?"
"He's gone off to hunt, if you could call it that. I thought of what he was doing, consuming the blood of some young one, then licked my lips at the thought of how the blood might taste.
"You should feed," she said.
"I just drank."
She was sitting on the edge of her bed, looking up at me, her eyes probing my mind. She was the only one who'd been able to do that to me. Others had tried, but she could without effort.
"Yes, you have," she replied, "But you need fresh blood now and again."
"But the herd is geting thin. The Bloods feed too often."
"I don't."
No, she didn't. But she was the only one who didn't. The others treated the humans as if they were there for their own personal use, whatever use they chose for them, and feasted as though there were no end to the supply.
"Fresh blood will make you stronger," she said, "You needn't feed like them to still feed. They will grow stronger than us if we allow it."
She always talked like that, as if she were not a Blood. SHe was just as strong as the Prince, perhaps stronger in ways. Certainly, she was more wise.
"Go and feed," she insisted. "Make another."
I looked at her. She was stern-faced.
"Our numbers are too few, and theirs too many."
Perhaps she was right. I nodded.
Yes, I would feed after all.

The earth cracked open and red light shimmered forth. An inferno blasted forth, and theres stood a demon. He stepped forward gingerly. He had just been promoted to Blade Demon and already had angered Lucifer. "Idiot", he cursed himself. He was hungry. So hungry. He snuck into the forest quietly, finding some humans wandering about idiotically. He looked at them quizically. Last time he had been on the above the humans had been in huge stone fortresses, heavily armored and heavily armed. He brushed the thought away and drew his sword. He leapt out and scythed one down the center. He spun around and took another down. He sheathed the sword and watched the rest run away, screaming. He put a hand to the corpses and began to drain the still trapped life energy. After he was done, he incinerated both corpses, then began to move farther, keeping an eye out for hostile creatures.

"Come on baby," he heard the engine groan and protest, but nonetheless he kept pumping the gas, in hopes maybe another gallon was hiding in there somewhere.
"Don't do this, not now... not here." The car stalled, coming to a stop on the road. He sighed, deeply, taking out the keys. Another one bites the dust. It was so hard to keep a good vehicle.
He got out of the car, looking at the silence that was now before him. Silences, hah, no doubt someone had heard him. It was just a question of which kind.
The wolves or the blood suckers?
Not like he preferred one over the other, but there were benefits to fighting each. If you could call it fighting, he called it escaping with style. The wolf had speed, and stamina; i could easily run down a human no matter how far they had run. A vampire wasn't as fast, but still faster than a human, he didn't care that much either. If the human was resistant, the vampire just moved onto an easier target. The wolf hunted you down until there was nothing left but a bloody mess.
At least, that's what he had seen so far.
Once he had travelled with others, sure. It was safer, he had to admit. You've got a couple of hungry wolves after you, they pick the two that can't run as fast, and the rest of you are all right. He didn't want to run though, he always wanted of revenge. Why not? Everyone had thought of it, but no one had the guts to do it. So, he left, going out on his own. More dangerous, but at least he could kick a vampire's ass every now and then.
The car gave out a loud creak, a severe weight was on it. He looked up, horror stricken at the wolf that looked down at him. It was a horrid beast, blood running down it's pearly white fangs, thick coarse hair covering it's body concealing who it really was.
It growled something awful, jumping at him. He fell to the ground, moving under the car.
"Oh... shit," He said, looking at the two paws now on the ground. The car groaned one more time... and was hurled into the air. The wolf looked at him with hungry eyes, coming closer. The cross was already out, one he always wore around his neck.
"Back.... back you evil beast," he was pleading now," Back I say!"
The wolf didn't even register the weapon, he leaned down, sniffing it's already dead prey.
"No... please," he closed his eyes, not sure what to do.
The cross came down hard, right in the shoulder. The wolf howled long and hard into the night, a feeling of pain and fear in that howl. Shit, that was the last thing he wanted to happen.
He grabbed the cross, taking it out from the beast, and jabbing him again, this time in the chest. It howled, which turned into a blood curtling scream. He could already see the change happening.
The wolf was becoming human. He turned the thing over, plunging it in one last time, this time his heart. The cross in his heart, the final blow.
"That's right bitch, who's your daddy?"
Blood creased his face, as he let the cross come out from the dead body. It was covered in blood, which he quickly polished off. After all silver wasn't the easiest thing to keep clean. It was deadly, and tasteful, something he enjoyed in a weapon.
Putting it back in his belt, he didn't bother with anything else. Others would be on their way.
And he still had a long way to go before he was safe.

Lucas lands on Dark Isle.

Lucas exited the boat, and stepped on the shores of Dark Isle. He lowered his shades and looked around at the ruins which was once a thriving city. "Amateurs" he said outloud.

He was a top general in the were-cat queen's army of Africa that helped quell the vampire hordes and secure control of the continent. In Africa, vampires were slaves and were-cats were their masters, living in buildings constructed by vampires while dining on humans that they had coralled.

The queen had sent Lucas to Dark Isle to aide the were-wolves in their struggle against the vampires here. He just had to find them first. He lifted his head up to the air sniffing for his brothers.

OOC: I listed a brief bio under the casting call. Where can I find all the were-wolves?

I awoke with a start, the dream barely whisps of memory now but I knew how it had gone, it was always the same and there would only be one way to escape it.

Dressing quickly I prepared myself for the journey ahead, I packed a small bag and slung it over my shoulder, I was seeking a man who would be able to give me the information that I needed to find my sire.

It was an incredible risk moving amongst humans but I was willing to take it, revenge drove me and I wouldn't, couldn't rest untill I had had mine, I pictured the look on my sire's face when he realised what I would do and that was what kept me going. To see his arrogance fade along with his life blood, of which I would drink deeply and then tell the people of what I had done.

Tell them that they were free to move whithout fear of death at every turn...or worse becoming what I was, a half breed thrown out from my home and shunned by Humans and Vampires alike.

I checked my kit making sure I had all I would need for this part of my journey and headed to the door, pausing to get my sword from the corner, once I was happy that all was in order I left, heading for a small settlement to the east where hopefully I would find this man and he would be willing to help.

The morning was overcast and the sky rumbled, threatening to pour forth ample amounts of rain. Casey hugged her rain slicker about her, unable to rid herself of a chill she had caught in the night. She looked out across the water. Something had drawn her to its edge this morning, making her feel that she should be there waiting. She rubbed her arms and inhaled deeply the moist air.
A street vendor passed by pushing his cart of wares, probably to his usual selling area. She smiled politely. He stopped and turned her way and she covered her mouth in horror. His face looked as if it had been shredded. Backing away she saw him reach out a mangled hand and beckon her to come to him. She was nailed to where she stood. He opened his coat and exposed his opened belly to her, blood and inards spilling out onto his feet. She retched and turned her face away. She heard the wheels of his cart begin to move and glanced up. Casey shook her head in disbelief. The vendor was fine. He smiled and nodded to her wishing her a pleasent morning. She could say nothing.
She ground at her eyes with the heels of her hands. "Casey, its lack of sleep girl. That's all." Looking out across the water once more before she turned and headed inland for a hot cup of coffee.

"Damnit!" Dawn cursed as she hurried down the road fear closing in. She had been on the way home from a friends house in the next town when her car as stalled. She was now walking down the street alone at night. She saw a truck up ahead that was laying on it's side. She was about to approach it when something jumped her from behind. Screaming she fell to the ground her scream cut off as the air left her lungs. Pushing herself up and the thing off of her she came to her feet and spung around. A wolf type creature stood up and advanced towards her drooling. "Nice puppy" she murmured backing away. The creature pounced and she jumped out of the way. Murming a quick sleeping spell the creature stopped and yawned then fell. She knew it would last long so she quickly took off running. She was looking behind her when she suddenly ran smack into someone. Immediatly taking the offensive stand she stared at a man, a very human man who looked like he had been through hell.

Reuben

I could smell him coming, moving quickly through the darkness ahead. I was out of place here, having wandered too far from the cave, and the smells in this place had me on edge. I'd been here before you see, and I knew a few of these characters all too well.
I crept forward, then stopped as I heard him near.
A vampire, i was sure, but what did he/ she intend?
It stopped in front of me, smelling the air. It had discovered me...No sense in waiting....

Javen

I;'d decided to leave the herd alone and try my luck in the woods. SOme of the humans still lived there, making use of the land and its creatures to survive. This might be a challenge, stoke my hunting skills a little. I smelled it then, the undeniable smell of cave must and wolf's breath, and stopped in my tracks, looking around.
The trees beside me suddenly seemed to spring to life. The wolf-creature tore through the leaves and limbs, landing on my shoulder and throwing me to the side. I grabbed hold of each of its arms and tossed it aside, rolling onto all fours and eyeing my enemy keenly.
It lunged again, its jaws gaping. I grabed it by the chin and rolled backward, driving my feet into its chest and tossing it again, this time over behind me. When I was standing again, it was already attacking, swinging one huge claw at my head. It landed the blow, knocing me backward. I struck the ground hard and it was on me, claws groping for my head. I gripped each of its wrists with my hands and pressed it backward, having little difficulty given my greater strength. It lowered its head and growled into my face. A warning, I knew.
I pushed one claw away and grabbed the creature by its throat, rolling it onto its back and straddling its chest. It swatted me away again. I landed on my feet and it climber quickly to its. The two of us both paused, having tested one another and found an adequate opponent.
Shit, I thought, just what I needed.
"Hello, Reuben." My voice remained calm while my mind went in a million directions all at once.
It let out a long puff of air, growled deeply, but didn't attack just yet.
"Don't recognize my voice?"
It growled again, this time following the sound with the word: "Javen?"
I nodded, knowing its eyes were sensitive enough to see my movements in this dim light. My body relaxed a little then. We'd known each other for quite some time, but we'd never really decided to be friends...or enemies, though we'd spilled each other's blood on one occasion.
"What are you doing this far North?" I asked.
"Hunting," he replied, "Nothing more."
"Same here," I replied. "Why don't we both just continue on our way, not make this any worse than it has already become?"
It growled again, then nodded slowly, backing up and turning. Then it was gone.

Deric ran further into the trees, revelling in the glory of a successful hunt. His stomach was full of the deer and he didn't have to go looking for any humans yet. He hated the taste of them and he was trying not to hunt any more humans. Part of him was human and he knew that if he were to be found out, especially where he lived then he would be killed faster than he could change. Suddenly he heard a loud howl and stopped, one of his brethern had been killed- but by what.

He ran as fast as he could to where the howling was coming from, changing into his human form as he did. As soon as he came to the road he saw the person laying there, a hole in his chest and a large black wolf standing over him. The wolf raised its head and was about to howl again but before it could it spotted Deric. It moved towards him as he raised his hands and said, "Whoa, I am one of you. I did not kill your mate."

The wolf suddenly changed into a beautiful female, her black hair flowing down her back and said, "How can I believe that you are one of us?"
Deric changed into his werewolf form and she smiled before turning and walking back to where her mate lay. He walked up behind her as soon as he had changed form again and said, "What happened here?"
"Lucas told me that there was a man having trouble with his car. He went to feed and when he did not return I came to look for him and I found him here like this. I will avenge him."

Deric looked at the woman and saw the pure hatred in her eyes and knew that he had to help her or the same fate that had befallen her mate would be hers. He raised his hand, "I will help you. I will help you to track down your mate's killer but you can have the honor of the kill."
"I will at that," the woman said before she changed.
She began to run off but before she could Deric changed himself and bounded off after her.

Lucas sees Deric

Something darted across the plains in the distance, Lucas lowered his shades once again and used his enhanced eye sight. It was two wolves one chasing the other. Lucas sniffed the air to try and figure out what tribes they were from. "I don't recgonize the tribal sent but one is male and one is female."

Lucas adjusted his shades before letting out a roar, his offical calling card to announce himself. When he realized the two wolves weren't stopping, he decided to follow them.

He groaned slightly as this strange woman body checked him. He held onto both of them, making sure they didn't fall or hurt themselves. He looked at her, smiling slightly.
"Well, hey there. What's a nice girl like you doing out all by your lonesome?"
She was incredibly attractive. Shit, he muttered to himself, first a werewolf then a vampire. Just his day, he was about to pull out a weapon, but stopped as he looked behind her.
Was that wolf sleeping? She had put a wolf to sleep and left it there? From what little contact he had seen between vampires and wolves, they weren't friendly with one another. He rarely even saw more than one escape with it's life.
"How did you do that?" His thoughts not on his safety anymore, but simple curiousity.
"I am sorry," he shook her hand tenderly, "My name is Joe. I'm the local monster resistance in this neck of the woods. Haven't seen many others who did the same?"
A sharp howl went through the night, something was on the hunt. And, as it looked like they were two strangers alone in the forest, he didn't doubt which ones were the hunted.
"Well, let's save the formalties for later. I have a little place I like to hang out and wait for night to be over. You're more than welcome to join me," he began running, "That is, if you can keep up!"

Javen

SHe was gasping and moaning, digging her fingernails into my back as I thrust forward...I didn't slow yet, though, didn't even dream of it.
She'd come, then come again, then asked me to stop for a while, then when I said it'd be over soon, she'd waited for a while, possibly an hour, then come again.
Now, she was begging me to stop. Humans...they had such small thresholds for everything...
I'd promised her not to prolong it any longer than was necessary, and she'd settled for that, though unhappily.
That had been a halfhour ago, and now I felt the end coming, building within me. I thrust harder, and she cried ot, though i guessed at this point it wasn't in pleasure.
When I actually came, she'd been crying, quietly, but crying still. Tears had wet her cheeks, run down onto my pillows. I lay on top of her, resting for a moment, then opened my eyes and looked down at her. She tried to smile, ut couldn't manage.
I found her alone in the dark, crying. SHe said a few things about why she was there and what ws wrong, but the words that I remember most were "I wish I were dead."
I'd told her then, "What if I could give you a new life?"
"I have a gift for you," i whispered to her, in my bed.
"What?" SHe asked, her smile somewhat more genuine now.
I just smiled, then reached to the side of the bed and handed her the goblet that was there.
"Here," I said, "Drink this..."
SHe took a long gulp of it, then handed it back to me.
"What is it?"
"You'll know in a minute," I replied, laying down on her again and nuzzling my lips to her neck, kissing the skin there and feeling for the jugular...

The female werewolf that had been in front of Deric suddenly stopped and sniffed the air, her head moving to the left then the right. She looked to the right and let out a howl and he knew that we had found what she had been looking, her mate's killer. The two of them ran to the right, picking up speed as we did. She wanted to find the person that had killed her mate and quickly, she wanted to slaughter the person.

She let out a loud howl as she ran along and Deric knew that if the person had heard it he would be running hard by now. A smile came to his lips at the thought of a good hunt.

He leaped out of the woods crazily, spinning his sword wildly. He brought it down on the female werefwolf, cleaving her in half. "I hate werewolves!" he growled. Then he lifted into the air and was gone, leaving a very confused male werewolf.

An hour later, he found a small village of humans. "Damn. This body needs to feed so damn often!", he cursed angrily. He kicked a door in and killed the entire family. He drained all their life forces, and exited the hut. He gave a triumphant roar. Doors were flung open everywhere and the humans began to run away. He wondered once again why they weren't behaving correctly. They were supposed to attack him. Once again, he lifted into the air and was gone.

Half an hour later, he lay in hiding. A vampire party of nobles was riding by. He lept out of the woods and grabbed what seemed to be the one with the most life in him. He took off immediately. He ripped his head off and sunk his teeth into his stump of a neck. He sucked the life out greedily and then dropped the corpse into a human village.

Little did he know that he had just made enemies of every faction of the isle. Had he known, he wouldn't have really cared.

Ooc: I thought one of the stipulations to being in this thread were no deities or godlike characters...

Dawn ran after the man callling "my name is Dawn" before she had to concentrate on her breathing. Everything was so dark she could barely see. Waving her hand she created a small ball of light to help light the way. Picking up her pace she was soon running right beside the man a stunned look on his face.

Yeah, he definitely liked this girl. She kept a fast pace, and best of all, she was so damn mysterious. Sleeping wolves, floating balls of light. If he hadn't lived the past three months running from vampires and were wolves he wouldn't have been more surprised. Right now though, he was thinking about his life more than just his curiousity.
Somehow, behind them grew silent. Joe turned around, glancing back at the road behind them.
"That's odd. They should be on us by now," he began looking at the forest surrounding them. He cursed silently.
"They are getting smarter..."
He pointed to the dirt road, which led straight into the forest.
"There's a house about half a mile in. That's not where we'll be safe, but it is close to it. You lead, I'll be right behind you."
He ran, glancing back as much as he possibly could. He took out a sixshooter, old, but still useful. Silver bullets, laced with a wooden tip. They wouldn't kill a vampire, but they would wound it enough to run away, and they were most definitely deadly to a wolf.
He only had about twenty rounds though.
Ahead, Dawn was making good time. Who was this woman?
He didn't know, but he was surely going to find out.

Javen

The girl screamed, then began crying again. That was the bitch of the whole process. Often, they went quickly, but this girl was taking forever. It was a good sign I knew, the body's ability to fight death would define how strong it would be in the afterlife, and this girl was fighting in a manner that made me wonder if she could win. Had I not fought for days once Jade had fed me her blood, then fed from mine?
This girl would make a worthy companion to my mother and I, but the annoyance of listening to her scream for so long...
"Making friends?"
THe voice came from behind me, but I knew who it was.
"Yes, MAKING them indeed." I replied.
THat would piss him off, it always did when i created more of my kind without his knowing in advance.
"I would think the lives of your already existing friends would make you less insistant of making more. Aren't your kind...," he searched for a word, "...malcontent?"
"In a sense," I replied, "But this one's beauty is undeniable, and so shall she be."
I looked back to see him smiling, his lips still stained with blood from his recent kill.
"If I didn't know better, I'd think I saw something of myself in you at times like these."
I smiled in return, "Yes, If you didn't know better."
THe girl's scream interrupted us.
"Do as you will," the Prince said, "just remember, you'll always be in my shadow, whether it is by choice, or by fate."
He was gone then.
I thought about going out and getting another, just to spie him, but decided against it. THis girl intrigued me. I decided to wait it out, wondering what I might name her.
Elizabeth? No too common. There were five Elizabeths now, not to mention several human housemaids named as such.
Sabrina? No, not quite the lifetaker I was certian this girl could be...
This girl deserved a name truly enchanting.
The death took two days...amazing. Most men went within hours, and women usually went faster--something about testosterone being a factor was once presented, as the female vampire seemed no weaker than the male--but this girl had held on. Surely Jade would be pleased with her.
Jade was in her room when I entered.
"Mother," i began, "I have news."
"Oh?"
I smiled, an honest smile if I'd ever had one. "I've found a new friend."
SHe smiled to match mine, "OH?"
"Meet, Celeste."

OOC: I hate to be a spoilsport, or to pull rank as the thread started--and i do MEAN that! But Poohlive's got a good point, Morgoth. I like the idea of the blade demon, but you'll have to tone it down a bit...especially if the werewolf you just killed was a character created by another player. No dieties, no God-like characters. A werewolf is too strong a character to be so easily killed.
Ular'kle Zaul is a good idea, but weaken him a little...

Dawn picked up her pace taking the lead. She felt a keen sense of worry course through her that the man might get hurt. He seemed to have really made an impression on her. She felt oddly very safe with him at the moment. Seeing the house up ahead become closer and closer she began to ponder what it would be like being trapped in a cabin all alone with him.

While Lucas was in pursuit of Deric and the female wolf he caught a strange sent in the air, like blood. He realized they were being stalked by a vampire or maybe even a horde of vampires. He quickly changed into his panther from and countinued chasing the two wolves, hoping they would realize what was going on soon.
