The clash of metal on metal echoed through the woods, the few sounds heard at the moment. The sword was not enough to pierce the heavily armored orc, not even a scratch being made. The orc stood there for a moment, a wicked grin on his face. Suddenly his right arm swung upwards and then down through the air like a whistle. The heavy battleaxe sliced through the knight, cleaving him in half. The knights fell to the ground, dying in only a matter of moments. Satisdifed, the orc turned and made his way further into the woods.

That was the scenrio which had been played over several times since the end of the war between the humans 25 years ago. The war had been started over a religious squabble a hundred years before. It was soon ended in an uneasy truce, but turned once more to peace. However, the peace was soon shattered as monsters began appearing through out the countryside, many being brought out from hiding by the war. The Orcs was one such group.

Another group to come out were dragons. There were several species of the race, adapted to every part of the world. Some dragons helped mankind while there were others who fought against man.

Salina Ledaro was the youngest of her five sisters. She came from the Ledaro family, rulers of the Saek Kingdom in the Kolden providence. Though she was a princess by blood, she had been raised to live by the way of the sword and magic. Her parents felt that her older sisters would be enough to carry on and rule because she never seemed fit to rule. It could have been the way magic seem to come to her, a rarity among humans. There were wizards and sorceresses through the world, but the often came from the common people, not royalty. It would not be right for a queen to have such power on the throne.

At first her parents were going to give her up to a common family to raise, but Syvia, the captain of the Saek Army, suggested that her talents be put use in protecting the kingdom. Her parents agreed reluctently and Syvia was soon learning the ways of the sword at the age of 5. Syvia also had the court wizard help Salina develop her magical abilities. Selina was a natural at magic and soon reached the point that the court wizard could not teach her any more by the time she was 18. Selina had also become a masterful fighter, prefering to use a short sword in one hand and a dagger in the other.

At the age of 18, Syvia released Selina from her care and told her to find her own way in the world. She had many battles with monsters, fought bandits, and even rescued a young queen dragon from danger.

Selina was now 25. The young queen she had rescued was named Beth'ria and had became her traveling companion, often carrying her in the sky and over land on her back.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was growing dark by the time Beth'ria landed a little ways from the small inn which sat by the main road from the capital city of Droth in the Castrel providence. Selina slid down from her companion's back, landing lightly on her feet. She took a deep breath for a moment and pulled her riding hood down from her head to let her hair free. Thick, wavy red hair tumbled down to stop just below her shoulderblades. The riding cloak she wore was wrapped around her lithe body, hiding what she wore but accented the gentle curves of her body.

Leaving Beth'ria to find some food, Selina made her way to the inn and pushed it open. The sounds of music, laughter, and warmth rushed out to greet her as she stepped in, her leather riding boots stepping over the wooden floor softly. Soft green eyes looked around at the crowd gathered, mostly men, but there were women as well, some serving wenches, others soliders as well. She figured most of the crowd were mercenies stopping for the night. She made her way over to the bar and placed five silver pieces on the table, the firelight and lamplight wavering over her lightly tanned skin.

Her lips moved softly in the din as the innkeeper nodded, taking the money and placing a mug of ale on the counter for her.

It has been so very long since the she-elf as seen her home. Being a wanderer since the age of 13 when they found out what she was. The possibilities of her ability scared the towns around her home. For the longest she had been able to hide it, something happened and her secret became known.

"Keep you children away, Alicia is a freak. Not one of us, don't let her corupt the young."

It all came rushing back to her as she changed into her elven form. White hair hidden within the black cloak, only her red serpant like eyes were visible. Her eyes changed when her secret became a reality for her, needing no reason to hide any longer. Alicia was not evil, yet, her lack of trust for the humans and any others made her seem evil. Even the color of her skin had changed that day, she was not the child that everyone used to know. Being only 13 at the time, Alicia didn't know any better. One moment everyone loved her, she was their favorite child. Next moment, she lost control and everyone wanted her dead, afraid of her.. Her age was now unknown to even her, ageless years have long since passed, and now her home town was not the same since the war. Yes, she was there before, during, and now after the orc war.

The cloak hid her well hid the magical bow that laid acrossed her back, blending in with her body when it was not in use. There were no arrows for she didn't need them, before this time happened she was taught how to summon them at will. Everything seemed to form to her body as she walked, the blade at her side, the daggers in her bracers. They were all made of magic and were meant to be hidden till they were in use, or she allowed them to be known.

Alicia smiled as she saw the dragon take off, a form slid from the dragons back.

"Why must everyone use animals in such a fashion? Don't they realize it shames the creatures?"

Spoke softly to herself, then when one can tame a dragon, there had to be something more to the relationship. Some story behind it, there was a slight hint of curiosity, but it was not enough to be up front about it. This person will most likely turn their back on her along with everyone else that Alicia came across.

The little elven city she once knew was now very large, run down from hard times and now everyone of any race roamed here. Alicia had almost wondered if her parents were still alive, least the parents that raised her, she knew her mother was her true mother. But with what she is, she had to wonder about who her father was. The man that raised her could not do half the things she was able to do, and her mother. Well, she was pure elven, she had powers, nothing compared to what Alicia weilded.

Upon entering the Inn, she saw a familiar face of long ago. A face that tried to help her and protect her through everything. Yet failed as Alicia ran away from the hatred. Kept the cloak over her head for a few moments as she walked to the Inn keeper.

"Do you by chance remember a child of long ago? A child that was banded from her own people?"

Her words were smooth as the wind, softer than anyone can imagine. The keeper turned to face her a sadden look on his face for a moment before he spoke.

"I have long heard of her death, aye, I do in deed remember a child that was different among her people."

He looks up just as she pulled the hood from her face, her white hair was more brilliant than he had remembered, the red serpant eyes sparkled with the childlike innocent he used to know. The keeper reached a hand out to her face that held the deep purple color of her skin.

"As you can tell, I am not dead. I have longed missed you my friend."

For a moment the feel of his hand against her cheek felt comforting, still she pulled back. Unwilling to be touched by any other, even her long time friend.

"Come, Come, take a seat anything you wish to eat, or even a room if you so desire to stay will be set for you, for however long you wish to stay...."

Inn keeper paused a moment, tears lingered in his eyes, tears of sorrow and happyness of her return. Everyone in the inn seemed to be intrigued by how she looked, least her face. As always she ignored them all.

"I have missed you Alicia, I hope you stay for while at least."

All she could was smile at him as she took her seat in the far corner of the dining room. After a few moments everyone went back to their chattering and drinking, a few conversations she was able to hear with her elven ears and not to her surprise, they were of her. Talking about how freaky she looked, someone dared another to come talk to her, but they had refused and the whole table laughed.

"I have missed you as well m'friend. But, this place, the people I have not."

A forced smile crossed her lips as she spoke, soone drinking and eating the food that he had brought her.

"I wish to talk to you Alicia, but as you can see, it is very hetic in here and there isn't much help on my side i'm afraid.... But, later... later we will catch up... aye?"

"Aye, Roman, we shall catch up on old times."

"Good, good."

Again, the elf placed a hand on her cheek before taking his leave. Alicia sat in silence trying to block out the laughter of those that mocked her. Soon, that died out and it was just as if she wasn't their entertainment any longer.

Selina took a long drink of the ale for a moment before she placed the mug back on the counter. She watched the innkeeper for a few moments when he had went to greet the girl who came in a few moments later. Her ears weren't on the conversations around her at the moment, as she was more focused on the elf. This was one of the few she had seen in her travels, but she didn't seem at all as if Selina was going to make fun of her. If anything, her face was of gentleness. Even being a harden warrior, her grace couldn't be completely hidden.

She watched the inn keeper and the elf converse, seeing that they had some sort of relationship in the past to act as they had. She reached down and pulled off her riding gloves, placing them on her belt inside her cloak. Her fingers were small, and on the place of her right hand was a small tattoo of a rose entertwining a rock. The tattoo was the symbol of the Saek kingdom and was placed there to remind her of her origins. She stood up from the bar and made her way through the crowd, causing a few whispers of her own as she went. She didn't pay much attention to the conversations till she came to the fire and held her hands out to warm herself up.

"Yeah, I heard there was a wizard up north who is trying to open a portal to another realm. He thinks he can bring in some creature to wipe out the orcs..."

"Yeah, they have been growing in numbers lately.. I've even heard of several attacking the border town near the Kolden province."

Salina eyes narrowed as she whirled around.
"When did that happen?"

One of the two men that were having the conversation jumped.
"About a month ago m'lady. The army fended them off but the orcs have been attacking more and more."

She hit her palm against the heath for a moment and then released a breath as she tried to calm herself.

Alicia kept silent as she watched the girl move to the fire, alittle to closet to comfort, then again the tavern part of the Inn wasn't terribly huge either. She to heard the conversation of the two men, corner of her eye she watched how the girl reacted to their news. Alicia smirked under her breath, it wasn't loud enough for anyone to hear it though.

She hesitated before speaking, knowing that she would either get ignored. Or mocked at, it seemed like forever before she finally spoke.

Her voice was low, Alicia did not look up, did not look into any of their eyes. She was like the shadow that spoke out to nothing, though everyone heard as well and being hushed by her words. They were amazed of how her voice sounded, it was so soft and quiet and like the wind it carried into all the ears around her.

"There is no single creature that can wipe the kind of numbers these Orcs have out. What does this wizard intend to summon?"

Soon the voices started to pick up, some were wondering the same thing and for once agreeing with her, other were just more mocking of what she spoke of. Her concern layed upon this wizard, the Orcs are of an old concern. Alicia will still kill them in a heartbeat, just it is not a fresh concern. This news of a wizard was of a fresh concern.

The men were to stunned to talk, and failed to answer her question right away. Still, she remained seated, her eyes fixed on the food and drink that was in front of her as if she never spoke in the first place. Though Alicia did feel the eyes of the two men on her, felt their digust towards her

Selina turned around from the fire as she heard the elf speak, her voice so low and quiet. She looked at her a little more carefully for a moment before looking at the man as well, waiting for the answer.

The man's mouth opened and closed for a few times before he foundt his voice once more.
"D..de..demons. The wizard is trying to summon a demon to help. That is only what I heard."

Selina frowned for a moment and then smirked.
"That is impossible. The wizard is foolish to think that."

She placed her hand on her forehead for a moment, feeling a sharp pain. It had been a long day for her and she needed rest. She made her way through the crowd towards near where the elf-girl was, her movements loooking shaking. She collapsed softly in a chair as she closed her eyes.

"Water please."

Her ears twitched slightly at the word demons, the word alone sent all her senses off. Alicia could pick up any signs of demons from great distances, when someone would speak the word all her senses would go wild. She had to find out more about this wizard, it's not like a wizard to summon a demon to rid of such creatures such as the orcs. In these lands it wasn't unheard of wizards summoning demons, but there was always a drawback to that. Demons were something to not mess with, and if this one is trying to summon one strong enough to wipe the Orcs, there will be a heavy price to pay.

Alicia studied the girl closly, just as the girl did her. Alicia tensed a moment as she headed in her direction, not wishing to speak anymore to these fools. Yet, the girl seemed distracted in thought, in some kind of pain at the news these men brought forth.

"Roman, what news have you heard of this wizard? Do I need to go hunt him down and teach him a lesson?"

Alicia made it possible for girl to hear while she spoke to Roman, blocking everyone else out of the words.

"No, m'lady Alicia, I have heard nothing of wizard. Wizards have been scarce since the great battle. I can only hope you do not go and hunt him down. But alas, I know you all to well even after these long years."

The two were speaking as if there was no other in the room, only the girl was able to hear the conversation. Roman was at the bar tending to the drinks and washing out the glasses, Alicia remained seated at the table. Yet, the conversation to the girl was as if they were next to eachother talking.

"Aye, you know I can not sit and let some wizard summon a creature as great as that. That will mean the end to us all. And I can not bear the thought of not seeing you for another so many long years."

She paused, alicia wasn't sure why she allowed the girl into the conversation, but there was something about her. Her aura wasn't like the others, and she had much power behind her.

"I would hate that as well m'sweet Alicia. I have heard of some wizard in the far north, beyond the mountains of lava. From rumors, he is not one to be messed with. He feels as if he is doing good, but we all know those wizards. Anything they do will backfire, specially when summoning demons to do their will."

Alicia then blocked out the girl as well, making the conversation only between Alicia and Roman, wasn't much else said. Only the fact that she shall stay here for a few days and try to get more on this wizard. But the girl did not hear what Alicia had to say.

"Roman, you know I would not go, but there has been so much about me that I have found throughout my travels. For as much as these pitiful souls taunt me and I more than anything wish for their death. I do not wish for these lands to be over taken by evil. I will stay for a few days, here, with you. Near the end of the 5th day I will take my leave and go seek this wizard."

They both looked up at the same time, catching eachothers gaze and held it for sometime. He said nothing more but the tears that escape his eyes said more than enough to the girl that heard some of the conversation.

"I am sorry Roman, there is nothing here for me here. Never has been. I shall return, I promise. In one form or another I will return."

With that Alicia got up from her seat, pulling the hood over her head and walked out without glancing back to neither the girl nor Roman.

"I hope you do, I pray for you Alicia."

"Prayers are just wasted words my friend, wasted words."

"Still, they are not wasted if they are for you."

Nothing else was said as she made out of the Inn, she needed to think and it was to cluttered in the tavern. Needed to figure out what her next move was going to be.

She shook her head for a few moments before the pain in her head soon went away, looking up as she listened to the bits of conversation between the elf and the inn keeper. She closed her eyes as she stayed in her seat after the elf went outside, going over the events which had just transpired. On one hand she wanted to return home to try and help fend off the orcs, but on the other hand, it could be disater for everyone if the wizard who was trying to summon the demon got out of control.

She sighed and then shook her head as she stood up once more. She needed some rest, but she had other things to take care of first. She moved outside and took a deep breath of the cool air. It made her feel much better for the moment to be out of the stuffy inn.

Overhead Beth'ria glided in the thermals before she flew down to land on the road in front of Salina, rumbling softly. Beth'ria lowered her head and Salina's fingertips scritched softly along her eyeridges.

"Our journey is about to begin anew once more. How does that sound?"

Beth'ria rumbled softly in response, her eyelids closed partly from the attention she was getting. Selina moved back as Beth'ria flew into the air once more before circling to lay behind the inn near the well.

"Where will our wings take us to this time?"

It was a caravan on the road to Droth and bandits had thought to rob it. They were a poorly-organized band, probably driven from better climates and safer careers by the encroaching orcs, but it was still possible that they might have overwhelmed the merchant’s guards if Namon had not hired on for that trip.

They told stories of the great war, of heroes who had held their banners at all costs, of brave last stands. Nobody would ever tell stories of Namon’s deeds, except perhaps to frighten children in the dark hours. He fought with a horrifying single-mindedness, using his great sword like a butcher’s cleaver. He cut his way through the ranks of the bandits; poorly armoured, poorly armed men who’d likely been farmers or foresters before the orcs burned them out of their homes. Namon moved like a dancer among, his sword barely seeming to touch a throat here, an eye there, but whoever it landed upon collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut.

The bandits fled in terror, leaving Namon standing alone in a pool of blood and corpses, with fearful guards and an even more fearful merchant eyeing him with doubt and fear from the caravans. For the rest of the trip the guards, who had previously extended an easy camaraderie towards him, avoided meeting his eye, avoided being alone with him, left him to brood on the outside on the fire’s circle each night. Namon didn’t mind. He found it easier to be alone.

He was a pale young man with a shock of dark hair, and eyes like green fire. He dressed in dark leather armour, and carried a great sword on his back. He sat there alone in the darkness each night, absolutely still, and thought his strange and bleak thoughts.

In Droth the merchant paid him in full, bid him a nervous goodbye, and hastily turned away. Namon knew better than to expect the merchant to hire him for the return trip.

Namon didn’t mind. One place was much the same as another.

Tarynn Shadowalker

He raced through the woods, he knew he had managed to outrun the caravan he had left. He knew they wouldn't be too happy with him when they found a few of their items missing. He also knew these woods were not safe after dark, especially when one traveled alone.

He stopped to catch his breath a moment, and checked the few items in his pockets. They were mere trinkets, but if he could sell them it would get him a room and possibly a hot meal. He didn’t like the look of these woods, the darker it got the more danger would lurk in the shadows.

He looked again in the direction he was heading, it would be the town they had possibly came from, the maps they had displayed showed it in this direction. He couldn’t help but think to himself as he continued on.”Tarynn. You must think of a legitimate way to make a living soon..This running is going to kill you.” He chuckled softly as he picked up his pace once more. It was times like these he was thankful of his half-elven heritage.

After a short while the darkness began to deepen, and as he thought he might have to camp in the wilderness, he spotted a light in the distance. ”Ah that should be the town.” He quickened his pace..

By the time he reached the inn and tavern he was in a dead run once more. He entered the place in a rush, the door almost slamming into the wall as he entered. He stopped just inside the door to straighten his clothes and hair as he looked about then strode towards the innkeeper.

Salina had gone around to the back of the inn when Beth'ria was, so she wasn't noticed by Tarynn. She paused for a moment as she pulled off the riding back from around Beth'ria's neck to look for where the female elf had gone off to. After a few moments of looking around, she shrugged softly as she had the feeling she would probably see the girl again soon. She shouldered the bag and made her way back inside the inn.

The inn wasn't quite as noisy as before since more of the mercs had gone to bed, though it was warmer than outside still. She slipped off her riding cloak and hung it up by the door. She wore studded leather armor on her upper body, the leather covering her modest-sized chest, but it left no skin showing. Her upper arms were bare and a pair of leather bracers were on her forearms, a dagger sheathed in the right bracer. Around her waist was a leather belt with a short sword hanging on her right side. The tip of the hilt has a small glowing red jewel in it. Her leather pants hugged her curves nicely and her riding boots came to the middle of her calves.

She moved to the bar and waited a few moments for the inn keeper to finish serving the man a drink. She laid three gold on the bar for a moment.

"I would like a room for three days. If I decide to stay longer, I'll let you know."

She glanced over at Tarynn as she waited for the inn keeper to give her room key. She gave him a nod when he looked her way for a moment and then took the key, making her way to the stairs for the rooms. Her body had a very very slight sway to it, but one had to look close since most, but not all her feminine qualities had gone by the wayside over the years.

Alicia sat in a tree for the longest time, watching the female from earlier. The dragon that layed behind the Inn, there indeed was something more between her and the dragon. Perhaps in time she'll find out what and how, Alicia loved dragons more than anything else in world and would do anything to protect them.

Finally the girl went back in after what seemed like searching. Alicia had guessed that she was searching for her, none the less she stayed hidden in the tree. She wanted to talk to this dragon before talking to the female, just her distrust to the mortals...

Waited a few moments in the tree to make sure she wouldn't return for the night. Shifted into a raven and flew to the roof of the Inn, changing back into her elven form just as her feet touched the roof. Instantly bowing to the dragon in respect and all in one movement.

"I am sorry to disturb you m'lady.... Though I do wish to speak with you if you will allow.."

Alicia treated every dragon she met with the same respect, even the ones that had nothing to do with the mortals. Also treated them as if they were all royalty even the ones that were not. Dragons to Alicia were like God's to the humans, and that is how she brought herself to treat them.

Beth'ria lifted her head up slowly and gave a large yawn for a moment before she focused on the elf who spoke to her. She tilted her head for a moment, looking at Alicia curiously for a moment.

'What do you wish to ask of me?'

The words were heard inside Alicia's head, soft and gentle.

Sat on her knees, keeping her head lowered for respect;

"Once again, I do apologize for disturbing you... Just your wisdom is of years beyond any on this earth. I was curious to know if you know anything about a wizard in the northern part of these lands?"

Her words were soft, a bit eager though were not rushed. Alicia looked up her curiousity getting the best of her, with this she spoke out of mind instead of verbally.

"Another, without disrespect of course. I just noticed you travel with a young girl, Why is that so? If you don't wish to answer I shall respect that."

"No, I have not heard of any wizard lately. I have not had much contact with other dragons recently. Why do you ask?"

Beth'ria eyes glowed golden in the moonlight as she studied the elf, pondering her spoken question.

"No,you speak no offense when asking about my companion, Salina. She saved me from a band of Orcs 12 moons agoand so I travel with her. I owe her my life. She is a kind human, though disagreeable with others at times on things. Why is it that you ask these things?"

Beth'ria crossed her front talons in front of her as she propped herself up now.

Alicia sat there a moment on her knees, cloak covering her saving her from the chilled wind that slowly picked up.

"I ask of the wizard because there are rumors of a wizard preparing to release something that will wipe out the orcs. This gives me a bad feeling. Ask of the girl, because it is rare to see a dragon such as yourself, traveling with humans."

Caught the dragons gaze, holding it for a moment.

"And I speak to you, because you a creature of great power and I respect that before anything else that walks this earth."

Beth'ria lowered her head a little before lifting it back up once more to look at Alicia.

"My race has great power, but I yet am not that powerful. My skills are still growing and I have much to learn. As far as my companion, perhaps you should inquire of her yourself. I believe she plans on staying here for a few days before we move on once more. She has something big planned. I hope to talk to you some more, but it is getting late. You are the first to talk to me like this, as I have yet develop the power to talk to my human."

She lowered her head back on the ground once more, but she didn't close her eyes yet. They remained on Alicia till she decided to leave.

"To me you have all the power in the world. Aye, you are right about it getting late... I have many skills, and speaking to any animal or creature, even with their language, is among those skills."

Alicia had debated whether she was going to leave or not, somehow it felt rather comforting upong the roof. Instead she stood, took her bow once more before the dragon, next movement Alicia was a raven taking to the skies.

"Sweet dreams m'lady dragon, for I am sure we will meet again in some form or another."

Dragon heard Alicia's words soft in her head as the raven form became out of site somewhere in the sky.

Tarynn had looked at the woman as she had gotten a room for three days, and then looked his way breifly. His short black hair was touseled, but his green eyes were bright even in the light of the tavern. He gave her a slight smile then looked away not wanting her to think him staring, he managed to watch as she walked away from the bar headed for the stairs.

He turned his attention then to the tender there and spoke up. "Excuse me sir? I would like to know if you would have any interest orknow of anyone who would in some trinkets for sale or in need of a ranger?" He figured he could sell the trinkets or his services to pay for a meal and a room.

A raven flapped overhead. Namon wondered if it was an omen.

He stood at one of the highest points of Droth, a funeral tower which some long-dead sect, feeling the worm-ridden ground to be spiritually unclean, had erected to lay their dead in. Apparantly, they felt being torn away piece by piece by the scavengers of the air and the ghouls of the graveyard district was a better end.

He increasingly spent time in these places, studying the names of the dead, talking with the ghouls in the dusty passages and learning their dark riddles. He felt drawn to death, as he had done ever since the gallows.

And now he simply stood, at the spire of the tower, his dark cloak snapping and biting at the bitter night-winds. He balanced precariously, one arm looped around the bone-white spire the only thing between him and the ground, many feet below. He stared out into the night, at the dimming lights of the city below, and thought on dust and loss and death.

The inn keeper nodded to Tarynn.
"Yes, there are places in town, but they are closed for the day. Why don't you stay tonight and then take care of business tomorrow? A room is only a gold piece."

Salina made her way up to her room and locked the door so she wouldn't have any unexpected company during the night. She undid her belt and hung it over the corner of the bedpost. She slipped out of her armor, leaving herself in a white silk sleeveless shirt and white panties. She moved to the window and smiled as she looked out at the sleeping Beth'ria. Th young dragon had been a good and constant compaion to her and she hoped that they would be together for years to come.

She yawned softly and made her way to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day of getting supplies she was sure. She closed her eyes and was soon fast asleep.

Tarynn looked to the innkeeper, "Well sir that is not that bad a price, but right now that is not a good thing for me. Unless I can interest you in a trinket or two in exchange for room and board for the night."He then pulled a nice gold chain and then a broach from his pockets.

"I have a few other items as well, all jewelry pieces. Very nice qualiity I assure you." He glanced about the tavern, hoping some of the legal types weren't paying too much attention. He tried to keep all of his actions low key, even his mode of dress and mannerisms really didn't try to draw attention to him.

Alicia had noticed something in a strange place, well for many it would be strange. Being in raven form, she had the sight of birds, adding to her natural sight as an elf was very benificial. This form was high ontop of some spires, boardering the gravesites entrance.

It was interesting to see a human form so high up with nothing to break his fall cept for ground. To most humans this is not the most pleasant thought.

She had debated if she should go to him and find out what he was doing... The debate was long in her head, all these people coming out of no where, and bringing out her curiousity was never a good thing. In her head she sighed, flew somewhere close to him, and landing within eyes reach of him. Obviously not wanting to get to close to him, Alicia just stood there a moment still in raven form for the moment, trying to find a better place to change.

Finding a reasonable spot near him, it was a broken ledge that seprated the walls between the towers, but it was obviously not how he got up there. Taking flight towards the ledge and changing into her elven form the second her feet touched the walls, tilting her head slightly to see if he noticed, other than that made no other movement to indicate she was interested in him. Looking up into the night blanket of stars.

The inn keeper raised an eyebrow for a moment as Tarynn offered to pay the payment with fine jewels. He shook his head softly.

"I cannot take such things as payment. I can however, hold an item as a deal between us. I will hold this for the night and then in the morning, pay me for the room in gold. Is that fair enough?"

He picked up the broach for a moment and then laid it on the counter.

"This is a one time offer sir. I deal in honest dealings, but I will make an exception this once."

He turns around and pulls down a key, laying it on the counter.

Tarynn looked to the innkeeper a smile lightly crossed his features. "I understand and will take care if our deal first things when the shops open."

He looked to the offered key, "I thank you for your hospitality then Sir and will definitely make good on payment as soon in the morning as I can."

He took the key and headed quickly upstairs, he wasn't much for social situations, especially of late. Not too many people were looking for the services of a ranger for leading them anywhere. Something seemed bad lately and if they kept going like this they would only get worse.

Orion Pierscon (pee-yer-scone)

Orion was the first child born of his parents. He was born into a very powerful elven household. His family was well known for centuries and centuries and centuries... and more centuries. Back when the orcs first started attacking and chaos was begining to rise, Orion was on a convoy with his family.

They were attacked by a gang of thieves. The party held them off well enough. What happened next is foggy in the mind of Orion. While the party was finishing off stray thieves, an entire horde of orcs came crashing through the trees onto the path. Orion witnessed many of his family members die at the hands of the orks, before he was hit in the side of the head by a wayward dead elven body.

When he woke up, he didn't remember anything that happened, and found himself in the shelter of the band of theives. Suffering from amnesia, he grew up with the theives, learning how to move about the land silently, unnoticed. He quickly flew up the ranks and became second in command of the gang, thanks to his training in fighting he had when he was with his family.

One day, when his gang was attacked by orcs... the scene stired something in his mind. Everything came back to him... how the thieves attacked his family, leading to their slaughter. He helped the thieves kill the three orks, than slaughtered the entire gang.

Being on his own, he roamed through the land, working as a bounty killer and thief.

One this particular day... Orion was enjoying the rewards of his latest bounty. He had a pouch of 15 gold pieces strapped to his belt and a wench sitting on his knee, downing some of his ale. He was ripping the soft flesh of some duck when he noticed something catch his eye.

He dropped the duck leg onto the table and ignored the wench as she slid from his leg and hit the ground, giving a shreek as she spilled ale all over her.

He moved some of his hood covering his face to the sides, so that he could see clearly. That woman... her hair is... and her eyes... she's...!

He watched as she exited the tavern. He quickly pushes the wench away and pulled his cloak tight around him as he followed her silently outside.
