Dark Ages: The Kendorrian War (OOC/Casting Call)

This in an rp about a terrible war that is breaking out in the continent of Kendorr, mainly between the Zangaard Alliance and the Sandoran Empire. Sandora lies to the north, just beyond the massive Keldus Mountain range. Zangaard lies to the south of the mountain range, and is made up of several allied kingdoms -- ages ago, the humans, dwarves, elves, and gnomes of the area came together and formed the Zangaard Alliance. Deciding that no one person should be in total control, they created a Grand Senate, which is comprised of twelve Senators who make decisions as a whole, not as individuals. However, they did appoint Regents to watch over each major city and the surrounding villages and areas. Senators are chosen by the Senate itself -- when a Senator dies or steps down, the remaining faction chooses the next candidate, or the departing Senator may choose to pass on his position to a son or close friend or relative.

In the Zangaard capital, Ceridian City, a great celebration is about to happen -- it's the Remembrance, a memorial to the Founding Fathers of the Alliance. However, this Remembrance is extra special -- today is the 500th anniversary of the Alliance.

This rp will start with the early morning of the summer holiday of the Remembrance. Our chars can get to know each other over the course of the day, and then with the evening comes the celebration. Then, just when the night reaches the peak of the party, a battered soldier stumbles into the city, claiming Sandora has invaded their northern border. And thus, the Alliance is thrown into war.

My character will be a young but skillful knight named Sir Jironus Silverstar. He's twenty-one, and graduated beyond his apprenticeship three years ago. He was placed as a security guard for the Remembrance, to patrol the City Square and make sure people behave. His past will be revealed as he chooses to reveal it to the other characters. Gaia Veleria Scipio

Gaia Velerius Scipio greeted this dawn with her arms raised high in greeting to the morning sun that had barely begun to grace the sky. Shivers trembled over long muscles as the chill morning dew bit lightly into her skin, even as excitement raced its heady heat beneath it.

Remembrance Day dawned bright and sparkling even as Gaia rushed through her morning ablutions with an impatience unlike her usually serene mien. It was a momentous day in Ceridien City. The five hundredth anniversary of their city and her father, Senator Gaius Vitruvius Scipio would be hosting a magnificent dinner after the festivities of the day.

Not only would she be allowed to scamper – attended, of course – around the city as she pleased but tonight would be her first adult affair. She bit her cheek, hiding the smile that rose with an impish twist to her lips. She’d turned eighteen the week before and had permitted her suitor, Marcus Aquilinus, a kiss….her first. She wondered where tonight might bring them….

“Gaia Veleria!” the admonishing tone in her tutors familiar voice brought her quickly out of her mischievous thoughts. She glanced down at her gown with dismay, drenched with the careless rapidity of her morning bathing ritual. The frost in the air rivaled her tutor’s demeanor and she cast her gaze down quickly to her feet, blushing and stammering like the child she no longer was.

‘Quickly now, inside to change and then…” the pause was momentous and Gaia resigned herself to the inevitable. Perhaps, if she was quick and came back with a smile she could convince Titus Apolonius to walk and talk at the same time. An excursion around town, even citing Cicero or Caesar, would be much more fun than being stuck in the classroom. She scampered, tossing her tutor a grin as she did so.
