Years ago i was a tv engineer, my workmate and i used to put our calls together and go round for fun, we used to smoke then and betting for cigarettes we would go to the customers door and ring the bell, when they answered the first one that spoke to the customer would lose the bet, believe me 7 seconds without saying anything is an eternity.
The other thing we would do is one of us would be horrible, the other nice, if the customer said "nice day" the horrible one would say "no i dont think so" and the nice guy would say "yes its lovely"
If you dropped out of character you lost the bet and we always let the customer in on the game at the end of the visit.

Has anyone done anything similar
