Several years ago I was so frustrated I posted that I lost my keys on the GB and subsequently found them.

About 3 weeks ago I lost my checkbook. The facts are that the last time I remember having it my husband wrote a check out of it and I took the check in the checkbook to the mechanic to pay a bill. It has vanished.

And NO! It is not up my butt.

The Queen has six check books and whenever she tells me to use one or get one for her all that I can ever find are five...

;) ;)

I think I saw a check book back in the 80's. Have you looked there?

I haven't used a checkbook in so long! I may have lost mine, too. I never look for checks.

Good luck!

Make sure to inform your bank to stop payment on any checks in that number range.

At $35 per check that could end up being a bit pricey. Also, remember "stop payments" are generally good for only 90-120 days. They're not permanent.

I can't remember the last time I wrote a check for anything, or for that matter paid cash. I've been carrying the same $20 bill for months.

Oh, I've already gotten the lecture on that. What does everybody use a debit card?

Denny Checkin In

After we moved north we went back to my old credit union. I got four check books after signing up. Rarely use checks but once a week that's how I pay for "Meals on Wheels." Don't laugh it's been a good deal for my wife and I. No cookin, no washin dishes and pots.
I used a few checks to buy computer crap, get driver license and tags, and pay car insurance. In no time I used the first check book. I remember putting the other three away handy! Yea right, handy!
We couldn't find those check books but knew they were in the house. It's not a large house. I still have a few nickles in our Florida bank where we lived so used their checkbook.
I also stopped at our new credit union for money and ordered four new check books.
I kept one out and put the other three in a safe place where I thought the old check books were.
Now it gets more like an old man with dementia which my wife has......... The short term kind that comes and goes. I was wearing jogging pants with no pockets. I put the checkbook in my shirt pocket and bought a new computer tower.
Several days later I was wearing a red plaid flannel shirt and remembered the check book. It wasn't in my shirt pocket. I figured since it was partially sticking out I either lost it or left it in the car. It wasn't in the car.
So, I went to the lamp stand where the new check books were behind a door. Still curious, I removed my wife's puzzle books and magazines still looking for the old "new" check books. There were the old "new" check books and the "new" new check books! I had looked there but didn't open the bank folder where the older "new" check books were. So I removed one to replace the new one I'd recently lost.
Later that day I was thunkin'. I remembered it was chilly the day we went to buy the computer tower and I wore a lined heavy red plaid flannel shirt. Yep, there in the back bedroom closet was my flannel shirt with the lost check book inside.
I have seven and a half checkbooks and $2.00 in the bank.
Now I have enough checkbooks to last forever, if I don't misplace them again.

credit/debit card.

Quick Pay, Apple Pay.

debit card is probably what most use.

I personally have not looked at my bank-account in years. The wife handles that.

We both use credit cards. All of our automatic payments go to one card. All of her spending goes to one card. All of mine to another. Then we just pay them off at the end of the month. A good card with solid cash back and fraud protection as well is the safest IMO.

Denny

I spent so much time writing the message and taking a lunch break I need to uppity date.
We rarely used checks before moving back north. We now have two meals a day delivered and pay by check. My new credit union which was my old credit union years ago does not trust me. For at least another month I can only use my credit card for up to $500.

Most crap I've been buying costs over $500. That's why I never ordered my computer on-line.
Everything else more than a burger, fries, and coke seems to be over $500.
Writing checks has been new to me too. but I actually feel safer than giving my Visa numbers to strange looking people.
For gas, oil, and groceries we use that primitve stuff called $20 bills. ;)

Credit Cards
They all offer cash back!!!
And they offer more fraud protection than Debit Card.
And you can increase your credit score by using them and paying them off. This actually became a kind of hobby at one point. My score is almost 850 with the big 3!!!

I pulled the checkbook out of your butt. After some serious deodorizing (thanks Febreze) I have a new wide screen TV and sound system.
