Hell was already a prison. Yet somehow the demon known as Saduj the Betrayer found himself in his own special prison. Before being sent there he was tortured in a thousand different ways all at once culminating in being thoroughly sodomized by the devil himself. Now there he was - broken and naked. All this because he wanted to rule the Earth. That and actually trying to take Hell along the way.
His cell had no bars or windows - in fact it was four walls of brimstone, probably of eternal thickness. The only consolation he had was his ability to make what he will of the space. What he thought, existed. Soon his accommodations became merely bearable. There was only thing he could not conjure - a true companion. Sure, he could create any female form he wanted, but none of them had any soul.
A soul! Of course! The power of the human was immense. Perhaps it was immense enough to break him out of his prison. There were two problems, though. First he to corrupt multiple souls simultaneously, which was not much a problem. Second, he needed to corrupt the soul of one deemed perfect for his lusts. That would prove difficult. He would need to see the world outside.
With a thought a large crystal orb formed in front of him and his search began. It took centuries to find what he was looking for, but he found her. A small village under the control of the roman Empire, a young woman promised in marriage - Saduj would have to act fast.
With a talon he scrawled a pentagram on the floor and chanted in an infernal tongue. In the middle of the symbol, the instrument of corruption formed. On a three-legged bronze stand laid a transparent organic-looking cauldron filled with a clear fluid. Numerous black tentacles grew from the cauldron's sides, ready to begin their torturous tasks. All was in readiness.
Once more Saduj began his infernal chants. As his recital reached a feverish pitch, a dark portal opened above the cauldron. As if knowing what to do next, the tentacles reached through the portal to snatch their pray.
Saduj could not help but laugh.
