There's a reason my beds are usually just box springs, matresses and fancy coverings...

The box spring and matress stood up just fine. It was the metal frame underneath that failed.

My point exactly... I got no frame to break. *giggle* The last actual bed with a proper frame that I had was when I was 12 or so... two friends and I broke the thing horsin' around. After that, my bed at my mum's was always lacking a frame. I learned muh lesson early on. I would like to make a big, heavy platform bed if we end up moving somewhere we plan on being for a while... complete with steps, eye bolts and possibly some sort of guard rail-type thingy.

When I make our next bed, it will be all wood and will be strong enough to deal with and hanle the kind of work out my wife and I, as well as anyone we invite, will give it.
