If you are blessed to live in an area that has heavy snow, you are probably learning a new word-- ice dams. That's what happens when snow accumulates on your roof, melts and then refreezes to keep melting snow from leaving your roof. The result is, with no place else to go, the water gets under the shingles and starts to drip into the walls or through the cielings, sometimes with devastating results. In my case, I have 2 leaks that will likely require repairs, if and when all the snow melts. Tomorrow I will try to break up some of the ice dams, if possible.
Ah, the joys of being a homeowner. Then again, this is a problem that can be fixed with money. Lots of other more serious problems, like relationships, can't. A leak is a nuisance. A loving relationship is a blessing.
Sorta helps me to keep things in perspective.
