Damn it, anyway. Someone just sent me a chain letter about Death.

DEATH - WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN IT

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."

"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear."

"I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing... I know my Master is there and that is enough."

May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Reading this post is enough - you do not have to send this to anyone.

I know my church attendance has been sporadic these days. I know it!

Why do people do this? I get so many emails like this.

Grumble.

At any rate, I'm posting this here. Sharing it, as it were. If it brings you peace, then it has served its purpose.

(And edited to fix the chain letter message. :) )

What if I don't know anyone? Am I destined to unhappiness? Will my wish not come true . . .I'm so confused!

You just couldn't break the chain, could you? :D ;)

Nahhh.

I figure four people will read it - mission accomplished.

"And now here are some important words about death!"

Grumble.

OK - somebody else has to read this damn thing.

You know, for the appropriate chain letter gods to be appeased.

Thank you.

(wonder if that's enough for those chain god bastards?)
I dunno, I said "fuck it" to the dish towel club mailing chain and I've had a rash of bad luck. Well, not an actual rash, but you get my meaning.

I've got a nice cream for that. Do you need some help in applying it?

My wifes sisters keep sending things like that to me. I have always deleted them as they use up a lot of net bandwidth if you forward them.

Yours will be read without the use of net bandwidth.

You don't have to go to church to be a good person. In fact, with all the paedophilia, homophobia and general intolerance within the church I'm beginning to think people's souls would be better off staying away.

There's no evidence of life after death. There's no evidence against it, either. Soon enough you're going to know so why worry about? - Robert A. Heinlein

I know this much though. God doesn't care what you believe. She only cares about how you act.

One needn't attend church to be spiritual or have good morals, or treat one's neighbors right.

Some of the nastiest, meanest people I know go to church daily.

I read your chain and have another quote for you:

"We are spirits, that bodies should be lent us so long as they can afford us pleasure, assist us in acquiring knowledge, or in doing good to our fellowmen, is a kind and benevolent act of God <insert deity of choice>. When they become unfit for these purposes, and affortd us pain instead of pleasure, and instead of an aid become an incumbrance, it is equally kind and benevolent that a way is provided by which we may depart from them. Death is that way. It is as if our friend and we were invited to a houseparty, which is to last forever. His chair was ready first, and he has gone before us. We could not all conveniently start together. And we should not be grieved at this, since we some day will follow, and know where to find him." --Ben Franklin
