Damage Control Casting Call and OOC

ATTENTION LITEROTICANS!

This is a casting call for a new RP thread! The title is "Damage Control" and it concerns publicists and the actors they endlessly have to clean up after. We are currently searching for four male characters and two female characters. The theme for this thread is romance, so feel free to flesh out your characters before getting to the fornication. Here are some traits of the various characters we need:

Male Actor 1: Classic bad boy, likes causing a little bit of trouble and getting away with it due to his effortless charm. Has a way with women and toys endlessly with his female publicist.

Female Publicist 1 **CAST**: Though her official title is publicist, she often acts as more of a babysitter/life coach for Actor 1. They have a close (potentially closer) relationship, but she doesn't want to be just another conquest.

Female Publicist 2 - Reyna Coppleston (I will be playing this character, this mini bio is just to let everyone know what she will be like): An Ice Queen with defenses a mile thick, this woman seems to be hiding from something big. Her relationship with her female client is much more mother to daughter than publicist to celebrity. Her client seems to enjoy getting into trouble with another actor, which forces her to come into contact with his publicist, a man with whom she has a history. Reyna tries desperately to ignore him, but he has a way of finding cracks in her defenses and shaking her up.

Male publicist 1 - Caretaker for another actor, enjoys getting on Ms. Coppleston's nerves and getting a rise out of her.

Male Actor 2 - This is pretty open


The other one female and one male character are open to whatever, they could be actors, publicists, or whatever. We just ask that you keep to the theme of romance. Have fun!

I will be playing the part of Female Publicist number 1 so i wanna give everyone some background on her character.

Her name is Brittany Tate. She's a very soft hearted but very firm and quite fair publicist. Always having to settle the difference between each other and deal with Male actor #1's games and what not. Although she is quite stern with Male actor #1 she's still very fair, but there's also something about him that just melts her. He knows how to make her cave in to him and he uses it to his advantage although she's trying to fight that more and more.

General Background: Reyna came to Los Angeles seeking escape. In a world where people only care about the next big thing and pay no attention to the hard work and the dedication of the 'little' people, she has found her refuge. She prefers to live inside the gigantic defenses she has built herself, but her continued run-ins with a certain member of the male sex make it increasingly difficult to keep herself locked away. She works for a young female star, who while likeable, keeps Reyna busy constantly cleaning up after her.

Little did she know she'd actually have her work cut out for her/ She works with a very young male actor, while he's a joy to work with there are some tough parts to the job, But she still loves it. One being her weakness for certain things she shouldnt be weak for.

She enjoys her job especially watching a actor bring out the best of a character and knowing she put the two together. Her years of experience in the business have taught her a thing or two about actors, their agents, publicists and personal assistants. Where once she was enamoured of the glitter of the movie and television world, now she has a thick layer of cynicism that covers her secret wish for true romance like the novels she reads at night.

Matt Hawkins
Age: 20
Height: 5 feet, 10 inches
Weight: 176 lbs
Hair: Dark Brown usually shorter but depends on what he's working on
Eyes: light blue
General Background: Matt grew up in a small town in Oregon and had a fairly average everyday life. Well, at least until the casting crew came to a nearby town looking for someone to fill a small role in a sitcom. It was to play as a friend of one of the main characters of the show that usually would be the kind of thing for a guest star, but for this they wanted something different. Not really expecting anything to happen at the time, he just auditioned and ended up getting the part. A few episodes were done and with a good audience response, he got called back about a year later to do some more in the same minor role. Over the next two years his career in showbiz started to take off with the help of his publicist and manager. He was getting close to getting a more important role in a movie, he was so close that he could almost taste it

Not sure but here's trying, needs to be polished a bit I know but I can only do so much without cutting into someone else's background. So if it's good I'll get to posting in the actual thread hopefully someone will work with me

I'll give Male Actor 1 a go.

Trent Mayer has been doing this for years. He started small, like everyone else, high school theatre and college theatre and some modeling and soon enough, once you met the right people, you were on a commercial, and then another commercial, and then a bit-part in a sitcom, and then a bigger part in a sitcom, and then a supporting role in an independent movie, and then some low-level, cheap hollywood flicks, and with the right publicist, from there, all you have to do is show up and smile.

Trent is 6' tall, a couple hundred and then some of pretty solid muscle from his recent action / military flick, "Beyond the Storm", about some crazy shit that goes down in Baghdad. He has short hair, curly, deep blue eyes, and he can turn on they boyish charm whenever he wants, with just the hottest smile you've ever seen. He's getting to be almost 40 now, still not married, still getting sloppy drunk and high, and still making everyone around him fall helplessly in love with him.

Light brown skin

One of the few people of minority descent in the business, Blest is also one of the rising stars. He made it big when an unknown star became a rousing success a couple years back, and he made it even bigger when he bailed that star out of a sex scandal involving an underage teen. Now he's big time, representing some of the biggest names in the business and dealing with all the trash that success brings.
He attended college with a certain female in the business, one known for her icy disposition. He enjoys her company and making her uncomfortable by reminding her of the times when she wasn't as closed off as she is now. He even knows the reason she became the ice queen she is today, but he shares it with no one out of professional respect.
