I'm very curious how you all feel about a female character calling her man "daddy" during a sex scene.

I know it's probably a bit controversial; some people may think it's hot, other's think it's creepy.

I personally think it's kinda cute if done right, and in small doses.

To be VERY clear: I'm not talking about having the characters doing some creepy, underage role play. That's just gross and weird.

I'm talking about two ADULT characters, unrelated, not actual incest. And she likes to call him "daddy" once in awhile, but only when intimate and only occasionally. Not constantly throughout the scene.

I used it exactly this way in one story and I'll admit I worried that it might upset some readers, but I've gotten no negative feedback on it after several weeks.

And I know several of you will just tell me to write what I want and readers be damned if they're offended.

And trust me, I do write what I want.

I'm just curious as to others thoughts on it, if any.

No set rules. Like in all writing and art. It depends upon your characters and how you develop them If it is true for the character it will work. If it is not, it won't.

I've written a character who used Daddy with her lover. It's not uncommon.

yep ^^^

there's always someone who won't like it. everything you write will be icky to somebody.

there's a whole dynamic of daddy out there, i'm slowly learning. not my thing, just a friend from here is into that scene. i visit her thread to joke around but it's a theme there.

no negative feedback means it's well received, eh?

keep on keeping on. :)

anyway, so,

One of my characters in the Alexaverse, Jeanie, calls men 'Daddy' on a regular basis, often to make them squirm as she puts her head on their shoulder. But indeed she has referred to men as Daddy if they're a dominant personality.

It's perfectly fine to use, but it's like a fine spice, you need to use it right. It's very versatile, good for romance, good for sensual, good for naughty, and great for comedy.

It's like a good Afghani saffron- use it lightly to exquisite results. Use too much, and you're pissing red for a week.

That almost made sense, but I killed it at the end. Sorrymasen.

Anyhoo, it's context and strategic use. Unless it's an I/T story about a Daddy and his daughter, in which case, let fly.

Doesn't do anything for me. Doesn't particularly bother me. I think there are a lot of readers out there who do like it though.

Personally, I think it's hot!

There are many outside of DD/lg (not roleplay) who use the term in a naughty, sexy way. Kinky lil fuc...folks!

It's a pretty common thing that pushes a lot of people's go-buttons. So, I do it. In writing.

I didn't get it, and was in the "sort of creepy" camp until a friend explained why she called me "Daddy" during sexy time.
For her, she was telling me that I made her feel safe & protected, and she could let herself go with me.
I can work with that.

Of course, she also loved being called "naughty", and "my little slut", and had been raised in a conservative religious community, so there was a lot to unpack.

Handled correctly (with some buildup, and in a way that's not too over-the-top), there's no reason that cannot be sexy. It may not appeal to some. It doesn't bother me. It all depends on how it's handled, just like everything else.

Well executed

There's a certain kind of relationship and personality from the woman's viewpoint that works with her calling her man "Daddy."

In fact, a woman who challenges her man because he's not used to it and she's trying to put him in a place of authority and power is a hot thing. He's mild-mannered, a nice guy, and has never gotten into BDSM or control and now she's trying to surrender power to him and he's not sure what to do with it.

Personally? Go for it. "Daddy" isn't an incest thing and it's not about issues. I think it's fun.

I've never used "daddy" before, but I toyed with it in "Finding the Fourth Girl." Nadia, talking about her ex-husband with her assistant, says, "Have you called him 'Daddy?' He likes that. It can be good for jewelry—a nice necklace, bracelet, earrings."

That wasn't a particularly serious story.

I don't recall ever having a woman call any man other than her father "Daddy."

That's exactly how I've tried to use it in my story.

My female lead is much younger than the guy, but she's made it clear she doesn't have unresolved daddy issues.

My male lead makes her feel safe and comfortable exploring her sexual side without pressuring her or pushing her boundaries.

She's been in total control of how they've progressed and she's feeling empowered. And it's been her choice when to use it.

That's how I'm trying to use it in a current chapter of my Jenna series I'm writing.

She's been in control of the sexual situation, and he's been more than happy to follow her lead, because he's always worried about pushing her boundaries.

But she shifts gears during things and becomes more passive, giving him an opportunity to assert himself a bit and tell her what he wants for a change.

That's how I've seen it anyway.

Like I said, my only real concern was making sure it didn't slip into the "creepy" category, because of course that's not my intent. Getting others viewpoints on it has been most helpful.

I've used it in a few of my stories. Although I'm not much of a BDSM writer (and only know what I've read about or been told) I used it in the context of a power exchange in one story.

In a couple of others I used it as a term of endearment between couples with an older man and younger woman. There is an old saying that a young man wants to marry someone like his mother and a young woman like her father. While some will find that creepy, it doesn't mean that they want to have sex with their parents, it means that if we look up to our parents, if we felt protected and loved by them it's natural to use that as a measure to find the same in others. That's exactly how I've used it: a young woman meets a man with many of the same qualities as her father. She finds she's also sexually attracted to him. I think that her use of the term daddy for her lover is a natural reaction to the qualities she sees in him.

Yeah that's exactly how I'm using it too. She even tells him straight up in an earlier chapter she's never thought of her father sexually, but it's just that he ( my male lead) reminds her of her dad in certain ways.

In BDSM a sub calling their master daddy is common

Women who identify as littles also use daddy.

There's nothing squicky about it, unless we're talking incest stories then some people would be put off by it.

Just write it, don't worry about it.

Maybe it's worth adding here that cultural background may influence one's comfort on the term. From what I've learned, calling hot guys "papis" in Spanish language cultures is just extremely normalized. My guess it's that's how it has gotten more common in English language as well. In pretty much any other language though, you have to be extremely kinky to use similar paternal words in sexual setting.

Again in this case, as in all manner of dirty talk, having a proper porn industry in that language helps.
