Another possibility, daughter is very weirded and creeped out by the sex bot and goes to stay with a relative to clear her head. While she's there they start looking through some old photo albums and she realizes that the sex bot is the spitting image of her mother from when she was younger. So she goes home still finding it weird but much less creepy, only to walk in on her parents having a threesome with the sex bot.

I would have the father and daughter live together maybe her mother passed away and her father misses her very much.
So the father bought a sexbot, he is impressed, the sexbot looks exactly like the young version of his late wife. He doesn't even realize that that means it also looks exactly like his daughter. The father becomes happier again and less lonely thanks to the robot.

I think the problem is that it’s coming from the perspective of a daughter finding out her dad made a sexbot in her image but there’s no context to suggest She’d be into it. At 18 it sounds like she’s still dependent on her dad and the fact she discovers it means dad was doing it in secret.
I think there are some factors that could be changed:
1. Since dad invented it maybe he’s got a behavioral condition that doesn’t let him pick up on normal social cues and norms. So when he was tasked with making a sexbot his thought process was “I need to model it after a person I have access to, they need to be seen as conventionally attractive. My daughter lives with me and has had a number of relationships so people find her attractive.
Dad asks if he can model a new android after her and daughter is okay with it as she thinks it’s just a helper bot. She doesn’t get nude during the modeling stage and dad doesn’t appear to be perving on her so it comes as a shock when she finds the completed bot and its marketing material.
2. Age daughter up. If you want to have her live in the home, maybe she’s dad’s caretaker: he’s got a brilliant mind but little sense. She handles his schedule, makes sure he’s eating well and collects steady income while she has time for a second job or just figuring her own life out. She’s not dependent on dad but she wants to look out for him. Maybe this even ties in with why she agreed to model: she figured dad wanted to make a helper bot that looked like her because she does so much for him.
With those two factors I think it would allow the daughter to approach the subject with him without immediately finding him repulsive. She is still shocked but realizes he didn’t mean any harm. So she discusses the topic with him and explains why it’s wrong and how despite his intention it’s still messed up.
He agrees to make the final production models different but he can’t bring himself to scrap the sexbot. Daughter knows how much his creations mean to him so she turns it on and notices all the little mannerisms he includes as part of her program which are almost perfect replications of her own behaviors. So it’s clear that Dad does pay attention to her (the mannerisms aren’t even sexual, they’re how she laughs, how she chews her lip when she’s thinking, etc.
Sexbot winds up taking over her caretaking duties allowing daughter to live her life while still getting a paycheck…but she does miss her dad. So she goes back there, accepting that fact that she might walk in on her dad and the sexbot but instead she finds out that he’s only tried to be emotionally intimate with it, not sexually.
Conversation with the sexbot reveals dad is actually sexually attracted to it but doesn’t want to cross that line. Daughter talks to her dad and he reveals that he hasn’t had sex since her mom left when she was a baby: mom saw him as a bank account only but grew sick of his lack of social awareness. He never dated before her and he doesn’t know how to initiate.
So daughter gives the okay for him to have sex with the sexbot…but she gets to oversee it since she doesn’t want him to chicken out. Of course, things turn into a three way where daughter initially tries to focus on just teasing and being pleased by the sexbot to make her dad excited but winds up bouncing by on his cock too. By the end dad is happy, daughter has had a good hard fuck and while she does feel a little shame over how it happened does enjoy the new level of intimacy with her dad who is now more open about his needs and wants (though she does need to remind him when it’s appropriate to share those needs and wants). While Sexbot gets to feel satisfied carrying out all of its functions.
IDEA 2: if you wanted to go a darker route.
Daughter finds the sexbot and is horrified. She switches it on and to her surprise, it begins speaking to her, not as a robot to a human but as a robot to a robot.
Daughter runs away but she suddenly finds herself naked on a bed with the sexbot having opened her belly…which doesn’t have guts but lots of wires.
Sexbot is actually a prototype. Daughter is the finished prototype but dad was impressed by her emotional development so he scrapped the project and instead got permission to try seeing if she could live as an 18 year old and treated her as his daughter.
The sexbot resets her to factory settings and decides to train her so she works “as intended”
Dad returns home and stops the sexbot, turns it off and returns her memories but she still feels the need to have lots of sex and please the nearest human.

I thought dad - daughter sex would be the primary goal of the post. My personal views make me choose different storylines if I can. I have collaborated on incest ideas, but only on the concept of the story, not the actual incest itself. So I hope you still appreciate the efforts of us.
