Bred to be brave and fearless and to hunt badgers. For this reason, it was also bred to be extraordinarily stupid. That’s why it is so brave. A German-bred dog that will look at a German Shepard or a Rottweiler and decide, I’m going to kick your ass and then will proceed to try and bark it to death.

There are a lot of Dachshunds here. They see badgers everywhere and try to bark them to death in the hope that a man will come along and kill the badger. That has yet to happen, but still, they yap, yap, yap…

This girl cat attacks everything/one she sees, if she so sees fit. She made the critter-killer skunkhound mutt whine last night. So reported by the landlady.

I don't know. I was sleeping soundly with the little sane cat at the other end of the house.

Maybe she has a bit of dachshund in her.

Had a visitor yesterday and so I locked the hellhounds in the office.

They barked and slammed and clawed into the door for a full two hours
without once letting up.

I cannot wait for them to just die.

Sorry if that offends anyone.

:(

(But it's been over a decade of this shit now...)

Tell me about it.

It wasn't my choice. I would have been okay with a large outside dog...

Owning a housepet is animal cruelty.

It's the same as guns...a stupid practice which only continues due to social inertia.

Uh, yeah..., cruel to provide an animal with food, water, shelter and security...

it doesn't surprise me that you have dogs and that you hate them. some people simply don't deserve to live with dogs.

you say it isn't your choice to have them and yet you also say you've had them for a decade. this doesn't make you sound very bright. there are plenty of places that will rehome your dogs. even the aspca is a better option than keeping them somewhere where they aren't wanted.

i sure hope you never had children.

You are beyond stupid. The dogs belong to the people in my family.

They simply would not let me give them away.

When you bring a pet into your home, there is an implied responsibility.

You must be a person who is averse to the idea of personal responsibility to others.

The dogs are well taken care of and loved by the other people in my life and I take good care of them.

Do you have any idea of how expensive a vet is? and yet they are taken twice a year for a checkup.

It's probably a good thing for you to never have a pet.

Yes, I do...and you're calling me stupid? Ha!

"The cost of owning a dog can be estimated at about $1,400 to $4,300 per year."

Go find someone else to enjoy your daily verbal abuse.

You care more about causing a ruckus than you do the topic.

Very sad and very pathetic, as usual...

Yeah. You're a cunt.

Most housepets are smarter than most Litsters.

So are most houseplants.

I am happy caring for housepets, to include cleaning their messes.

I can't be arsed to water a Litster, except maybe to hold his/her head under it . . . .

Truth.
Hello Mr Wat!

When you think AJ can't be a shittier person, here he comes along and outdoes himself. Kudos.

none of them figured out that it's hyperbole and irony
and that, in fact, the OP is crazy about his little dogs

We don't seem to agree on much, but on this I'm 100% in agreement. We've had a lot of different pets over the years: dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, ferrets, rabbits, more than one horse. There were some unfortunate accidents over the last 50 years, a couple of our dogs got hit by a car, several cats were killed by coyotes or eagles, one old mule we took in was run by a couple of the neighbor's dogs, fell and broke a rib that punctured her lung. We found her the next morning dead in the stall. But the vast majority lived long lives. We had one mare my wife got when she was 16 that lived 42 years.

In all that time over all those pets none were ever given away or euthanized because we didn't want them or couldn't take care of them. When we take in a pet, we make a commitment and it's here for life however long that is. I get really really pissed at people that get a dog and a year later they take it to the pound because they can't handle it, or they don't like it. There's only one thing to say about those sorts: 100% grade A unmitigated ASSHOLES!

Anyway 'nuff of the ranting. I agree, if you agree to take in a pet or an animal, it's for the life of that animal no matter how long they live. I would not trust anyone who does less.

Comshaw
