D"rat mayors defunded police, funded personal security

Well, Democrats are pieces of shit, so it's no surprise.

This merely points out what they fear the most, their constituents.

While the OP's subject is the various mayors making sure they are safe, it goes far beyond that. Why are the 'progressive' democrats almost uniformly for gun control? Actually to the point of confiscation of any firearm that might be useful in a life of death situation. It's not out of concern for the citizenry, it's out of concern for their own personal safety. They know that there is no law they can pass that will stop the carnage taking place on the streets of their cities. They know that there is no law they can pass that will prevent the demented from reeking havoc on the innocent.

They also know, at least many do, that the second amendment is the teeth that protects the first amendment. That beyond personal defense it is the ultimate warning against a government that try's to impose dictatorial edicts on the people. It is not by accident that one of the first acts every totalitarian regime on the face of the earth was to disarm the populace, all in the name of 'public safety' of course.

It should be interesting to everyone, although I fully understand that that isn't going to happen, that these very same mayor's that are enhancing their protective details are presiding over cities that do have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, and by the way outrageous gun crime rates.

They take a permissive stance towards crime, defining it as some sort of 'protest.' And define the police as the problem. Perhaps in some small way they believe that this is going to buy them some measure of immunity from being the victim of the crime they are allowing to blossom in their cities? To hell with the citizens, of any race or creed, that just want to get on with their lives.

Is it any wonder that those citizens that can pass the background checks are causing guns to fly off the shelves in unprecedented numbers? At some point when the police are not allowed to do their job the citizenry are going to start doing it for them. And that dear reader is a frightening proposition. Vigilante justice run amok. That is the trajectory that we're on and no law can stop it without the ability, and willingness, to enforce said law.
