Someone told me about a film called "Perdita Durango". I looked it up on the net and clicked on the translated German (below are my emphases and edits for length.) Read and enjoy.

AH relevance: we all appreciate navigating language, including the more perverse aspects and side effects. Anyone have similar transcendental translations? - Perdita (not into rodents)

Perdita Durango with: Rosie Perez, Javier Bardem, Alex Cox, among other things.
Direction: Alex de la Iglesia, Spanien/Mexico 1997; 128 minutes

It is animalische attraction at first sight: Perdita Durango and Romeo Dolorosa meet at the border between Mexico and Texas and purge each other. They kidnap a good rodent couple together and go on apokalyptischen trip into the one-way street of the American dream.

Pursued of the police and … a scruples less Gangsterboss they take to course with a stolen truck, which loaded an uncanny freight, to the Suendenbabel Las Vegas. There all outstanding accounts are to be settled...

With dirty, shameless pictures cult director Alex slams de la Iglesia Aztec of rituals, brutal rapes, deadly Showdowns and the completely normal insanity of the two drop Outs on the canvas and proves:

Cinema is a question of the blood pressure!

I don't care about the rest of the movie, but I've gotta see that scene.

I posted a story (in English) on a Spanish language Yahoo Group. I then ran it through my translator and translated it from English into Spanish. The resulting mess caused hysterics in the Group so I translated my "Spanish" text back to English. I couldn't recognise my story and it made even less sense than my stories usually do.

They could have saved themselves all the trouble by just drinking a little water from the Rio Grande. ;)

Now if it had been anyone but you, Rump, I'd be offended. I've been to Mexico many times since infancy; never been purged, even from eating the best food offered by street vendors. It's you gringos who have the delicate tummies, and other parts I won't go on about.

Perdita ;)

Thank you for the link Svenka. Have not stopped laughing yet.
