Even the non-rp'rs in online games use emotes just to play around. Online RPGs are just a big chat room with pretty colors and stuff to kill.

It annoys ME when I slip into RPG in an IM or BB, but I know how easily it is to slide into that habit outside of the enviornment so I don't knock others for it.

MOst of the people i IM are fellow online RPG players, so it's never been an issue. If i IM or post somewhere else, i usually don't think "is this gonna be socially acceptable, or will people think i'm so fucking AOL" it's the way i type, if people got a problem with it, they aint gotta read it.
