It is a partly cloudy and cool with a slight breeze, so guess what I am doing?

Give up?

I am making chili. And I bet most of you have better recipes for chili than I have. Wanna share with me and get off those other goofy threads?

Join me and share, please....

I go to Wendys, I pull up to the drive thru, some disembodied voice asks me what I want, and I say chile. They say, "would you like to supersize that"? and i say nope. they say "that will be .99" please oull around.quick and easy, and no mess to clean up.;)

Weather here is sunny and warm, surf is 12-18ft on the North Shore.

I go to Zippy's for chili...

I like chili pretty spicy. Lots of cayenne pepper and hot peppers. Throw in some beans - kidney, brown, etc. Lots of meat - I like to make it with a mix of pork and beef. Carrots, celery, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and tomato paste.

When I make chili, I make a huge pot of it, and freeze containers for later. So I throw everything but the kitchen sink into it. I like vegies and lots of meat in mine. And I prefer brown beans over kidney beans, but I will toss a few of those in as well.

Carrots and celery are good in chili, Rose. Mine usually ends up being very thick, and filled with stuff - I don't like watery chili.

What beach? I want to be where you are. And I don't know Zippy but I bet it's great.

With hamburger but pork is best.

I use burger - about a pound and a half.

Brown that, and season it with some pepper and mustard. Sautee a couple of large onions, and a green pepper. Add 16 oz cans of light kidneys, dark kidneys, chiliu beans, and black beans. Add 32 oz cans of tomato puree, tomato pieces, and tomato sauce. Grate in one or two carrots. Add chili pepper, salt, and one tablespoon of sugar to cut some of the tomato acid. Add whatever other seasonings you like, and which seem appropriate. Simmer as long as possible - more is better.

Enjoy.

Serve with cheddar cheese, or plain.

Yes me too, I hate runny chili. I am using this can of DelMonte diced tomatoes with green chili in mine today and it smells great.

And I bet this is great the next day, too. Sounds wonderful and I did copy and paste this and Freya's suggestions to my desktop. Thanks a lot!

You can leave the meat out for Vegetarian chili, too.

I'd invite you to the potluck but it's a Libertarian meeting. hahaha .......

p_pman (aka Pete to me) has his work cut out for him if he thinks he can replace you, doll. ~smile~

Ahhh!

I feel all warm fuzzies inside.
:D

Is it really a Libertarian meeting, or did you just say that as a joke? I'd even go to a Libertarian meeting, Rose, just to be with you.
