It's been a while, as I look on and off. I've had success before with long term relationships so I thought I might try again.

I'm a 40-something female mostly happy at home but alone often so I'm not looking for anything messy or to talk about how much we hate married life or our exes.

What I like: cooking (mostly plant based), travel, exercise, politics, girly things like the spa, good TV shows. I like my job, and I have no problem admitting that I don't really love going out anymore unless it's to concerts - with proper ear protection now! I'm more submissive/masochistic. I'm trying to read more as an answer to limiting social media and not doing well so far.

What I like in a partner: quiet dominance - doesn't need everyone to know his business, someone who likes similar things but not the exact things, someone who isn't ashamed of their home life, someone who has a good job that challenges them and wants to talk about it. Who understands that I have a life off-lit, and understands boundaries. Someone who wants to build a trusting communications-based relationship that could turn into more with the right level of trust and chemistry.

What I don't like: MAGA, MAHA, negging, daddies, people who I know have been sending the same message to everyone on lit for 3 years with no positive outcome. Smoking and drinking. Dick pics and immaturity.

I'm a 40-something female in the NE US, mostly happy at home but alone often so I'm not looking for anything messy or to talk about how much we hate married life or our exes.

I am open to geography and definitely think some accents are super sexy (are you English?).

Why dont you want to make things great?

Curiously, this hasn't gotten me much interest. Is it because I'm not sharing a picture of my tongue? That must be it.
I've received dick pics, messages from men considerably older than me (no offense...), guys considerably younger (offense...). One interesting voice note with a nice voice attached who ghosted.

Is it time to bring back, "is lit dying"?

Lit isn't dying. It's still kicking along. The right guy just hasn't dropped by yet. He will.

It’s been fascinating to see people come and go from my (in)box!
It’s a reminder that nothing beats actual human connection and it’s so, so rare.

I agree, sometimes you think you have connected and have been chatting very well for a while, then they stop.

Im always looking for new friends to chat to especially since being in hospital for over 4 months. It get get very lonely. Feel free to PM my inbox if you would like to chat

It is interesting that you have not found a connection. I wonder if the politics turned a bunch of people off.

You have politics under what you like and then mention you don’t like MAGA or MAHA. So you only like politics that you agree with?

You mention plant based cooking. That could scare away all the meat eaters.

And the smokers. And the drinkers.

You’ve really cut down on your pool of potentials. Just an observation.

Hi,

I think you reach an age where you definitely have a view of the world, and though you are open to learning more, you realize, to follow the discussion about limiting one's choices by stating up front political preferences and health preferences, you know you don't wish to spend personal time and share personal information with people who have a world view very different than yours and who don't care for themselves in a fashion similar to you. Given the choice between spending time with people who you know you would have conflict with or being alone, the original poster saves herself and others time by deciding to be alone rather than settle for less on things which are a priority in her life.

I like politics.
I don’t like fascists.

I don’t really cut down my pool of potentials because I get a little of messages, just no clicking. I’m not interested in compromising my values.
