Is it just me, or do you all find feedback in your email account everyday? Literally, I get hundreds in the first two days after posting a story, but I haven't posted a story in weeks, and yet I get feedback in my email every day, and not always about my latest submission either. And I mean every day. Granted, a lot of it is about my picture posted on my bio page, but each one comes from a story of mine that they just read. Is this normal?

Not me. I haven't gotten any in a long time actually....maybe noone likes me....*whimpers sadly* *laughs* I can't even pull off saying that in jest....

Whisper :rose:

Nope, it's rare I get any feedback after the first day or two of being posted. Oh well, no one likes me either :D

DS, with your AV, I'm surprised you don't get more ...

I get a spate of 8-10 when a new story comes out, then 1-2 a week. Maybe.

Even got feedback on my poultry this week.

It's a porn site. You have a highly suggestive picture up. Your name is "Dirty slut." Your biography says that you love all sex any sex. If you can't figure that out all by yourself then you've got to be a complete idiot. Since I already know you're not stupid, then I have to outright question your motives for posting this blatant slap in the face thread.

By the by, I don't get any feedback email. I turned it all off.

I posted my only story on the sixteenth of this month, so it hasn't been up long. I got a lot of email feedback the first couple of days, but it has slowed down already. I didn't get any today. I figure that not everyone who reads a story is going to send feedback. But it is nice to hear if someone enjoyed it, or a good suggestion on how to improve my writing.

I hardly ever get any feedback. I posted a gay male story and got about seven or so, and that is the most for any one story. Most of my stories haven't gotten any. Men are not interested in writing to me and there aren't that many women who read here. I try to write smut for women, and I think I succeed to some degree but most of the readers are still men.

I noticed that...

How would I go about turning mine off, too?

It's an option on the Main Screen, right after you log in. Click on "Options" and you can choose to turn off just anonymous feedback, or you can opt to stop the effusive flow altogether.

Thanks. I probably should have asked about that in the first place, huh. Sorry if I embarrassed anyone, just wasn't thinking when I posted this time.

Okay, thanks Muffin, and Zack, I've turned off the annonymous feedback, that should cut it down some.

Don't apologize, DS, most of us would love to get 1-2 feedback e-mails per day! Your stuff is getting read, and that's the important thing. As Pierce noted, once the damn thing's written, it's all marketing from that point on.

Maybe I could just borrow your AV ... well, then, I'd have to change my name to scarlet vixen or something ... nah, that's a ridiculously stupid idea ....

Dirty Slut,

Who am I going to send all those letters to now?

Yeah, Thanks a lot Killer and Zack! Couldn't just keep quiet for once ey`?

Hey, I only turned off the annonymous feedback, not everything. LOL

I'm in the same leauge as most people here it seems some tenthful of feedback while the story is up on the first page of the New-page. Then a slow trickle of 1/week.

I was thinking of setting up a challenging female alter ego writer, just to see what happened. I guess this thread answered my questions. :)

I'm wondering.

It's just basic human nature. Most people who come to this site are male, and looking for a quick masturbatory fix.

They're gonna hit up the female authors first, because they don't want to look at a picture of a guy when they're jacking off.

Then they're gonna select based on username, because it's so much more fun to read stories by someone calling themselves 'dirty slut' than it is to read stories by someone calling themselves 'Janet357'

Then they're gonna discriminate based on profile picture. Even a sexy name won't bring in as many reads as a suggestive profile picture. (although they won't get to seeing the profile picture until they've decided where to click based on name)

They might decide to backclick based on what you write in your bio. If you write that you're horny all the time, love sex, love to fuck then they're more likely to stay on your page, because guys love to read hot stories by a "slut" who "can't get enough sex". It doesn't matter whether you have yourself listed as 'attached' in your profile. That's a 'real life' detail and most people won't let it intrude into their fantasies.

Of course, that all happens even before they click on a story, and quite honestly, the story content doesn't matter hugely as long as the average joe can get off to it.

So, if you write stroke of any form, have a hot profile pic, a sexy nickname and a bio that gets them hard even before they read a single word of your stories.... Then you're gonna get lots of 'feedback' letters.

In the time that my story has been up (about a week and a half), I have gotten 10 feedback emails. I got half of them on the first day. Then didn't get anything the next day, got two the next, skipped another day, got one more, skipped three days and got two more and haven't gotten any more (been three days.)

So, I'd say you are not the norm when it comes to how much feedback one gets. At least, not the norm in this group.

Getting Feedback

I have to agree with Raphy. Guys come here to beat off and they are going to go to read something by a woman calling herself "Dirty Slut" or "Damp Panties" or Crimson Maiden", although maybe not "Killer Muffin" or "Perdita". Women might go to someone called "Boxlicker", but even they are more likely to go to a woman writer, and I think it's safe to say most of the readers are men, although I have gotten propositions from women. And, of course, if they get off on a story, there is a good chance they will send the writer a complimentary feedback. Personally, I think my stories are pure smut and good stroking material for either men or women.

Actually, half of my feedback e-mail is from women who want to co-author with me. Here's one that I don't think will mind if I post her feedback as it is also advertisement for her. And believe me she's a very good writer. Check out her stories.

That made me curious so I went back over the feedback I have received. Seven were from straight men. Nine were from straight women, and three of them propositioned me. Actually, they said things like "I would love to get it on with you, if we weren't so far apart", which isn't actually a proposition, but I can dream. Eight were from gay men about the two gay stories I wrote. Three were unknown. That is 27 feedbacks from 40 stories, one of them a six part novella. Actually, that probably should be feeds back, but never mind.

to Dirty slut. Why you get so much feedback

Dear Dirty slut, I think you get so much feedback for two big reasons. First you write well. And second you got a great stacked bod and love to talk about sex! I do not know the ratio of guys and girls who give you E-mails but the guys love hot ladies like you who love to talk about sex! I sure do! Plus I would not mind seeing some more of your sexy pictures. My E-mail is Gibsonsx@AOL.COm if you want to get back to me on this!or send a private message! I am a member too now if you want to talk some more!:)

Well, as someone who used to just read the stories here, then eventually started to write some . . . I still get feedback on my earlier works. Nothing like right after I first posted though. Also, when I used to just read, I never went to search the author's page out unless I really, really liked at least two stories I read by them. So, for you to have your pic up . . . cream on top, but only if you caught my attention enough to read more by you.

I like to get feedback since it can help with the directions my stories go in, or how my next one will go. There have been times when I had shifted my focus on a story in progress due to some feedback I recieved.

I have gotten lots of differing feedback too. Some love my stuff, others will take it apart and walk through it llike trying to understand the characters more, others will tell me what they would have done to that cheating . . . . heh, still others will tell me what they didn't like and why, constructively, and then there are those who tend to take it to a personal level and even threaten me. I guess that if I am writing well enough to get emotional responses from the readers, then i must be on track at some level.

Feedback, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Oh, don't take this wrong either, I am not a feedback junkie. I just like to see where I stand in my story and sometimes get an idea of a new direction to shift to. :)

The vast majority of my feedback comes from women. Maybe it's just the kind of story that I wrote. A couple of have even said that they thought I was a woman because of how I wrote. I guess every story is going to find it's own audience.

I like to get feedback for a couple of reasons. One being an opportunity to sharpen my skills. I've gotten some really good advice on just the story I posted here that has helped me.

Another reason is that I only posted it for people to read. It's good to know that it is being read. And if it is being enjoyed, so much the better.
