It won't be long before American real estate developers rebuild Cuba as just another Carib resort destination.

( Forbes says american tourism to cuba is poised to jump from 800,000 to 10 million yank visitors per year)

Most Lit readers will never see Cuba in its present sleepy state.

Would you buy a Cuban time share?

I probably hit the million yanks per year mark a few times when I was younger, but time catches up to us all.

Some simple math, say 200 yanks per shot, that's 5,000. Wow, you were a busy young man!

If you have been to Cuba, you have seen the beauty of the country as well as the beast of the system that has caused that beauty to suffer.

When the country finally is open to trade, tourists from the States, etc,. it will again blossom. That being said, anyone with an ounce of sense should invest in companies who will be doing infrastructure renewal. After all, what don't they need? Upgrades for telecoms/internet access. Satcom until they can run the cables from South FL or South America.

Many lawsuits will have to be settled regarding properties "appropriated" by the Castro yakeover in the early 60's, but there WILL be some smoking real estate deals to be had at excellent prices.

My wish is that they truly revive the cigar industry. The current production sucks, because the craftsmen split early-on. Dominican cigars are currently FAR better overall.

Oh, yeah....I do want to buy one of the crappy Soviet firetrucks they have....nothing is totally ueless, it can ALWAYS serve as a bad example.

The dreaded white Hispanic...

Petey is so shell-shocked by his culture that he's warning the world that he is a clear and present danger simply because he is white. I urge him not to travel to Cuba lest he help fuck it up...

:(

... even more than it is now.

I accept both the good and the bad. Unlike you I do not cherry pick the pieces of the culture I want to carry around and those that I run away from.

I would visit Cuba in a heartbeat. Warm beaches. Good music. Good cigars. What's not to love?

They will get a few walmarts and smokin fast internet access.

We get sandy beaches and happy cigars.

You get more bitter by the hour. Maybe after you have worked enough hours to buy some insurance you could go see somebody about that.
