Crony Christianity challenges the separation of Church and State.

Crony Christianity is the collaborative arrangement between government and Christian faith-based organizations whereby government funds Christian organizations to deliver goods and services that advance the political agenda of the government. Any government.

The crisis surrounding the flood of unaccompanied alien children into the U.S. has promoted crony Christianity.

It is a variation of the spider’s web of similar arrangements, spun between businesses and government, that we call crony capitalism.

Seems like there is something for everybody who wants to advance the goals of government.

Here is a sampling of grants given to faith-based organizations to provide services for “unaccompanied alien youth”:

During his presidency Bush handed out "Point of Light Awards" six days a week to citizens working to aid their communities through volunteer work.[5]

In 1990 Bush spearheaded the creation of the Points of Light Foundation, the goal of which was to promote private, non-governmental solutions to social issues.

The foundation was criticized in a 1995 investigation by The Los Angeles Times for spending only 11% of its budget on grants to volunteer organizations, while spending $22.3 million on "promotions, consultants, salaries, travel and conferences," including "$5.5 million to produce a television advertising campaign and $1.4 million for a celebration of community service." The Times also noted that the foundation received more than half its budget from federal funds.[1]

W established the Office of Faith Based Initiatives in 2001 and put it right in the White House.

So your argument then is that it is either a good thing ,okay for the Democrats to do it, or it's Bush's fault.

Maybe all three?

"George W. Bush's first executive order as president created the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in the White House. This action expanded on the "Charitable Choice" provision, passed as part of President Clinton's 1996 welfare reform bill, that allowed smaller and more overtly religious groups to receive government funding for providing social services."

Okay, now what?

Back to Bush Sr.?

Meanwhile, look at the amounts of money going out to religious groups from the same Democrats who scream bloody murder abut STRUCY separation...

I made no argument, Mr. Ascription. It is a simple statement of fact.

Many of these entities are getting each year the equivalent of the Bush program.

But, the only thing you guys now care about is do not blame Obama.

lol

Uh, huh.

We all believe that.

We all believe that you meant nothing by it.

You just felt that the discussion needed some random factoids for clarity... right?

You know by making sure that The Thousand Points of Light got mentioned. That had nothing to do with current spending...

I haven't seen anyone argue for it. It's only GHW Bush's fault in that he started it. Every president since has continued it, and I don't care for any of it. I want the churches to stay out of the government and the government to stay out of the churches.

But you had to make sure to let us know that Bill Clinton first started giving money to religious organizations.

You are way too transparent.

You started the thread, troll. We know what you're doing and choose to add facts and context to your ideological insanity.

If organized religions, especially the Catholics paid taxes it would go a long way to get this country out of debt.

Look at it more closely and I guess pedophiles are tax exempt seeing many of them are part of the priesthood.
