Criteria for "All time" top lists?

I have a 4.69 rated story in the Anal category http://www.literotica.com/s/warm-breeze-allisas-story that was published 12/09/09. It was in the 30-day and 12 month top anal lists for it's first year but has since fallen off the charts even though I would expect it to be on the second page of the all time list. I think a lot more people would be reading it if it were there since that all-time is the default view for top lists.

I initially thought there might be some waiting period beyond 12 months before a story could appear in the all time list but that doesn't appear to be so since I see other stories that are newer (from 2010) that are already in the all-time lists.

So I'm just wondering if there is some other criteria - are the all-time lists hand filtered, or is there some minimum number of votes or views requirement? I notice that my story has 72 votes and 36,000 odd views but so far I haven't come across another all-time top-listed story with less than 100 votes. I did send an email asking about this a while ago but didn't get a response, no biggy but I'm just curious.

Thanks for any info.

Hi you pretty much figured it out. It is the number of votes. The 30 day list can have very few and i ma not sure aboiut the 12 months but for the all time I think it has to be three digits because I have a few 4.8+ incest stories but they are high chapter numbers so only have around t 60-70 votes and fall off att he all time list.

I'm not sure how many more votes a story needs to get onto the "all-time" list, but once it's there it is clearly more dependent on the average score than the number of votes. Having a slightly lower average with dramatically more votes doesn't seem to make any real difference.

For a while at the end of last year & beginning of this year, I had several spots on the top ten that were in the 4.9+ range with several hundred votes, but none of them had nearly as many votes as "Macallan Promises." Yet because my stories had a higher average, they placed higher. Similarly, there were several moments at which a new story debuted, got a higher average than much of my stuff, and therefore displaced it until the average of said new story eventually fell.

Eventually several of my chapters were stripped of some votes for whatever reason, while "Macallan Promises" still held its high average & huge vote tally. That happened shortly before I pulled my stuff for e-publishing, so I have no idea whether some or any of those votes were restored or what.

Regardless -- yes, it appears that you need maybe around 100 votes or so for the "all-time" list, but once you're there it's much more dependent on the scoring average than on the number of votes.

Most categories have a 100 vote minimum in order to qualify for the All Time toplists. A few have higher or lower minimums, based upon the average number of votes for the category.

Stories that reach the minimum are then sorted as they are for the 30 day and 12 month lists. The first thing used for sortation is score. Then stories having the same score are sorted by vote total.

Thanks

Thanks for the explanation, I guess I will have to wait until my story gets more votes... I haven't really paid attention to whether it is getting many votes these days but I'm sure it will make it to 100 eventually.
