Crime of the century (Superhero/Supervillain OOC - Casting Call)

I was watching Ocean's 11, the new one, the other day and got to thinking how much fun a supervillain version of that would be. And sex is always good. So I figured, why not?

The basic plot is a lift from Ocean's. My character,and possibly a partner if someone is interested in that role, go around recruiting criminals, probably supervillians, to help them in pulling off this crime. Supervillains are generally down on thier luck because there are also Superheroes running around, stopping crimes and foiling plans. One supervillain may even be in jail and we'll have to bust him out to start things off.

A note on powers. I envision this as a weaker power RP. No Green Lantern ring that can do anything. No Superman/Sentry/Martian Manhunter characters with 15 thousand powers. One power per character please. I'm looking more for Luke Cages then Incredible Hulks, that way we'll have to work together to pull off the heist. This isn't the marvel universe, people don't hate and fear supers for having super powers, especially since most powers aren't that exciting. No one is going to start a riot because Joe down the street has super smelling. On the other hand, super smelling has a wide variety of uses especially to a cop or criminal.

Regarding Superheroes, you may be working with the police or government or even be a Special Crimes Unit cop or some such. You may be doing the whole secret Identity thing.

Physical description: Six foot tall, red hair and goatee, medium build. Blue eyes, classic nordic features, Luke is usually dressed in a silk shirt and slacks, a casual business look.

Power: Luke's brain can cypher patterns. When it first surfaced in his teenage years he could translate any language just by listening to a few minutes speech or reading a few sentences. Mathematics, basically a language in and of itself, came naturally, but Luke really shown when introduced to computer languages.

History: The middle kid from a family of 7. His mother was a secretary at a local university, his dad was a custiodian for a private high school so thier kids could get a free education. Luke was a smart kid, but a trouble maker. He was always playing cards and betting on sports games. Part honor student, part trouble maker, Luke went to the head of the class when his powers surfaced in sophomore year. He switched into five language classes, and higher math classes, boosting his GPA to a 4.0. On the side he still played cards, getting into bigger hands with the private school kids. In Senior year in a programming class Luke realized how he was going to make his fortune.

College was easy. A comp sci major Luke sailed through college while he became a master hacker. Cutting through code like it wasn't there Luke wrote a few superman viruses and retired after getting kicked out of college for fixing games. Luke went on the poker circuit and followed the development supers in the news. Sitting at a free buffet in Vegas one night watching the news Luke came up with an idea for the greatest heist in history.

Physical description: She has long brown hair that goes to mid back and has curly hair. Her eyes are a deep brown as well, she has an average body, she loves to wear earth colors like Greens and Browns, it makes her even more attractive, and she does have her hair out of her face at all times, either in a bread or a pony tail since she cannot stand her hair in her face.

Power: Rose has a Siren like ability, she can control people with her voice, when she sings and wants someone to be controlled by her voice, she easily controls them, except because her powers are still being worked on she cannot control more powerful people then her.

History: Rose came from an abusive family everyone was picking on her no matter what she did she got picked on, everyone in the family drank, it was just her mother and father and uncle, everyone else didn't exist and she had to deal with being picked on at home and school, she was a fat little girl but because of the stress she stopped eating and soon lost a lot of weight because of how much in pain she was emotionally. But now she is the beautiful 120 pound brunette bombshell that is very strong in her own right.

Power: Bone compression and Denisty manipulation. harlan's bones (Much like a weasal's or a mouse's Compress and allow him to fit into much smaller areas than normally possible. This also makes him very flexible, bouncy, and very cuddly.
History: Harlan was always a small kid But due to a wise attitude and a willingness to retireve small objects for others Or opopen doors or access areas not usually allowed. Harlan was kind of popular. through minor theatrics harlan usually makes his living as a sideshow act or acrobat. performing Death defying acts. And to those in the know, One of the most talented greasemen ever born.

Power: Bushido Brown is a world class martial artist, having trained with Shaolin monks for much of his life. He can sense glimpses of the future through meditation and heals wounds at an accelerated rate. (No not like healing factor fast, more like hard to kill action movie hero type healing) His training has made him very agile and strong.

Past: Bushido was abandoned on the steps of an orphanage when he was a baby. He grew up never knowing his real parents and spent much of his childhood watching Bruce Lee, Jim Kelly, Donnie Yen, and Jet Li films. When he was old enough he dedicated himself to becoming a martial artist. He took classes, quickly outstripping all his other students. When he was sixteen he took all the money he had saved up and with the blessing of the orphanage's runner he went to China, where he found entrance into a Shaolin temple, spending 9 years studying with them, refining his Kung-Fu to near perfection. He returned to the states at the age of 25 and easily passed the entrance exams into law enforcement, rising rapidly through the ranks.

Physical description: Raven wavy hair, hazel eyes, lovely face. Her figure is slender and flexible. When in normal form she looks much like a book wormy college student. She's about 5'4". Her super heroine costume consists of a long violet hooded cloak and flexible clothing beneath.

Power: She becomes the staff wielding magician of love and wisdom. Defender of the innocent and gate guardian of truth. Her fighting style is characterized by acrobatics and fighting with her staff as a melee weapon. She has a few spells but they can only be used for long range.
History: Her parents were archeaologists and died protecting an important ancient artifact from the government. They never found it but she had. She'd protected it from them. One day she was studying it for a paper she was doing for class about her family and discovered something odd about it. It looked like some kind of handle. Some how it opened and she found herself filled with the knowledge of ages. Despite her power, she's occasionally clumsy and fairly shy when it comes to men.

Known as "The Man who Never Misses" Gunsmoke was once a Black Ops sniper before he turned his talents to his own needs and benifits. Gunsmoke is far from evil, he simply looks out for number one. Gruff, coarse, but not without a sense of humor, Gunsmoke never lets a target get away once it's in his sights.

Well gee, since you suggested it...

Name: Jeremiah Fairfax.
Age: 36.
Sex: Male.
Sexual preference: Straight.

Physical description: 6'3", slim build. He looks quite unnatural, white flesh and a completely hairless body. His sharp features and cold, calculating eyes make him all the more unsettling to look at. Jeremiah is an impeccable dresser. His suits routinely cost thousands. His flight gear is an insulated black bodysuit (For the frigid temperatures high above) and a sleek black pair of goggles (For the high wind. And bugs. Blech.), boots, gloves, and utility belt to match. He's been the cause of many "alien sightings" over the years.

Power: Jeremiah is a flier. Through means unknown, he can defy gravity. His only boundaries are set by the lack of oxygen and the freezing temperatures in the upper atmosphere. Much faster in flight than on foot, he's been known to race passengers jets. He can only carry so much extra weight with him, roughly 200 lbs. comfortably. The heavier the load, the slower and lower he flies.

History: Jeremiah grew up in New York, coddled in wealth. His parents were distant, perhaps because of the unfortunate toll his mutation took on his appearance, but he had all the young friends money could buy. Insulated from emotion, he became shrewd and cutthroat. Upon graduating from the Ivy Leagues, he promptly deposed his own father as head of Fairtech, Inc., a small but profitable weapons manufacturer contracted to the government.

With no moral compass, Jeremiah has found himself time and again dabbling in indecent business with organized crime. More than one competitor have found their high penthouse offices mysteriously ransacked.

On a business level, Jeremiah has made few alliances. He realizes sometimes partners are a necessity. Not since grade school, however, has he allowed anyone close to him on any sort of a personal level.

Some nights at work I get off 10 posts, last night I got off one Private message. Dem's de brakes.

I think I need an anti-gravity device to pull off the heist I have in mind. Several in fact. Come to think of it, perhaps Fairtech Inc. could be building one which leads to our meeting Jeremiah. Maybe the energy drain is too great and it only works for thirty minutes or so which is why it's still in design? We could break in to steal it, get caught by Jeremiah, detain him and maybe Gunsmoke recognizes him from some past job they pulled together.

Do you guys want to see the plot I have outlined in my head or let it unfold? I'd prefer to let it out and let you guys improve on it, but If anyone has a problem keeping OOC information Out of Character then I'll let it unfold.

Aye. You need an antigrav device. Fairtech's had an article or two in the pop science rags touting such a thing in the works. And as Jeremiah's stepped into illegal areas from time to time, he's approachable.

I'd always prefer to see a plot unfold, but I've seen far too many crash because of the players' ignorance. If you want to let it out, please do. I'm curious.

Would it be unfair to PM those who want to know and leave ignorant those who don't want to know? Just to give people an option.

excellent news on the anti-grav boosters. Do remember that they only work for a short period of time, and perhaps the government is unaware that you've started designing them.
