Crescent Ville OOC

Hello fellow rpers, i'm involved in only three stories now and want to make it even.
I have this story idea that has been rolling in my head for quite sometime, so i'm creating this OOC. If i don't get enough rpers, i'll make it a one on one.
The idea is simple.
Group 1: they are the oldest witches around. Their family govern almost everything that goes on in crescent ville. Their identity is kept a secret, they have rules and they follow it.
They have a leader and he/she is from the (input name here) family.
Group 2: they are witch hunters. Just moved to town, all staying in the same mansion with old man. A 69yr old witch hunter they have rules governing their operations, they are here because of the witches. They must blend in to find them. They all wear a certain ring to protect them from witch attacks.
Group 3: ordinary humans in the college whose life got entangled in the war between the two.
Think camille in originals.

Some basic things of note.
1. The story basically takes place in the town's college called Crescent College.
2. 90% of all characters are student in the college from the age range of 18 to 26. Lit doesn't allow anything below 18, i had initially wanted a 16yr old gamefreak.
3. The remaining 10% that are not students are parents or teachers in each groups.
3. No extraordinary spell like summoning a giant.
Think the movie "the originals" to know the extent of a witch's powers.
4. The hunters all have a ring that protects them from witch attacks.
5. Many hunters can't spot a witch at first glance. They monitor and look for signs as witches now in the 21st century no longer carry broomsticks and wear hideos robes.
6. Only master hunters and grand witches can spot a hunter or witch at first glance.

Now the story can go in many ways when it comes to romance, love and lust.
We can have
Witch and witch
Hunter and hunter
Witch and hunter
Witch and human
Human and hunter.

I was thinking maybe a combination of modern and supernatural.
Think bullers dipped in vervain for vampires.
Maybe this will be bullets dipped in garlic, holy water etc.
All in all, their weapons are modern and modified to their own taste, but nothing too hardcore.

In Crescent Ville, Love, Family and Duty are constantly at war with each other.
Also as for the hunters, their primary mission is to hunt, their secondary is their studies.

I'd probably like to go with a very 'junior' hunter (learning the ropes) or a human that gets entangled in all this stuff.

Yeah i have set rules for each group, but they are not too broad. I want the story to be as flexible as real life. And in real life, rules are broken in certain circumstances. E.g if there's a rule that hunters shouldb't hunt in the open or witches must not cast spells where they can be seen, a situation where a loved one is dying can trigger one to break the rules.
So i want to carve out rules that are breakable and ones that are not.
As for your idea of a character. I like the human more, i can envision my character, a hunter maybe disobeying faction orders just to protect you.
Lol, just be whatever you want to be.

I'd happily write a hot, very powerful, witch professor/teacher of healing and potions making. She's a 35 year old from one of the oldest Witch families of matriarchy. She's a red head and is a medium as well as an expert in Potions. Picture Rachel LeFevre from Under the Dome as a witch. That's my character.

Morrigyn Lucimere of the infamous Lucimere Witches, the oldest and most powerful line of female witches on the continent and, other than her old and addled grandmother of ninety-nine, is the last remaining survivor of her proud family line. She's seen three members of her family burnt at the stake, including her own mother when she was a child. The craft is strong within her and she tries to keep to herself, putting all of her effort into helping her students, but she has good reason to mistrust non magical people.

Ummm.. do I have to be a part of the college? I was thinking of a 22yr old barista (haha) who is best friends with a witch (not of an ancient family, I don't think) and just keeps getting into trouble.

I feel more comfortable with an older woman who has more freedom than a student.

And... do we have any takers for my best friend? Or should I roleplay her as well?

Wolfsister, Morrigyn can be your friend. But, I think Morrigyn is the more serious and moody of the pair, then. ;-)
I don't think she's ever confirmed your girl's suspicions she is a witch, she just doesn't deny them either.

Its not a must to be someone that belongs to the college but she should be one that frequents the college. Because most of the scenes is to be held there.
Slippedhalo, i was envisioning some sort of creed for the witches. Okay they call it coven, which means they all know each other, communicate one way or the other and give assignment when necessary.
As for your idea Wolfsister, feel free to take up another character as a witch friend, suggestively someone from the college who might dislike your relationship with a hunter.
Though if Slippedhalo is up to it. By all means go for it.
I'll send an invite out, hopefully we'll get more characters by day end.
And maybe tommorrow or next i'll flesh out the intro, and the IC

As she's last of her family practicing she's mostly solitary but, yes, she belongs to a greater coven of other witches who keep in contact and help each other. Many of the witch families are intermingled via bloodlines as well. She's from an older, more respected family of witches so she's usually one of a council of three or seven who give assignments to the others.

I'm going to be a human since there are so many hunters. I think my guy will be 21-22 and a senior at the college. I'm also thinking he's a small time campus drug dealer. And maybe he uses Morrigyn's potion lessons to make better drugs. And speaking of Morrigyn, what does she teach? Since potions and healing aren't actual subjects. Maybe chemistry?

And to wolfsister, maybe your character can work at an on campus coffee shop?
