Ever been sitting alone at home at night an suddenly someting falls over or moves or something for no apparent reason?

Early this morning as I was sitting at the counter the cabinet door slowly opened and a cup fell out.

Now logic tells me that the cup was probablly not stacked well, it finally fell, leaned against the door. The door wasn't latched so the weight of the cup caused the door to slowly open and the cup fell. But it still just about gave me a heartattack.

Either that or my house is haunted.

You mean your money evaporates with no apparent reason?

So, you've ruled out the invisible man stalking you theory?

And the old significant other's gas light bit?

And who's to say the cup was not re-stacked incorrectly by the government agents who were planting tiny video remotes throughout your house...

sheeesh, why does everybody always jump to the conclusion of ghosts when there are dozens of more reasonable explanations...

I pity the poor government agent who got assigned to watch the video feed from my house. He probablly already lapsed into a coma and died of boredom. :D

Yeah..well how'd you like to be sitting in your TV room, lights out, and for no reason you look towards your hallway and see a vision of a young girl coming down your stairs??? Yep...that happened to me...so I just closed my eyes and looked again. Nothing was there. I figured it was from looking at the TV so long....

Told my SO later that night and he said that he wasn't going to tell me but a few nights previous to that happening he woke up and saw a sparkling cloud above his body....he was shit-scared, but went back to bed and wasn't going to say anything.

A few days later I was in my linen closet and a bottle of hair stuff fell onto the next ledge from behind....mind you, there is no way that could have happened since the shelves touch the back wall of the closet...

I got so pissed I yelled "Alright, who ever you are I want you to stop this fucking shit right now! I don't care if you are in the house with us, but you better not hurt anyone of us here or there'll be hell to pay!!"

Nothing has happened since...

That's our Honey. Ninety-five pounds of serious attitude.

I heard some unexplainable, repetitive noises in my house a couple years ago that I've never forgotten about. My bed is against the wall in my room, and on the other side of the wall, is a hallway with a closet. I heard rhythmic knocking...it sounded like someone was in that closet pounding on the back wall of it. I was so terrified that I couldn't even move...it eventually stopped, but I was awake until it got light outside.

Turns out my dog was under my bed scratching himself and his leg kept hitting the wall.

It's Aunt Phoebe. The old girl was able to foresee the future in a limited way; demonstrated it over and over. Said to a twelve-year-old, "C'mere, sweetie.. yes, I thought so... I see a nurse's cap on your head!" The sister, ten or nearly ten, came over right away, asking if there was one on her head, too. Phoebe could see she wanted it to be so, so she said, "Oh, yes," but she looked at her mother over the kids shoulder and shook her head no. Both predictions true, and numerous others.

So she left for the season. Grandmother said, "See you next summer, Phoebe!"

"I'm not so sure you will, hun. But look here. If you hear I'm gone, I want you to keep an eye out. If there is a way to communicate afterward, I mean, after you're gone, I'll try to get in touch with you."

Grandmother told her not to be silly, she'd be back next summer, she was healthy as a horse. Phoebe agreed, kissed her goodbye, and left. She died that winter, needless to say.

So around our house growing up, whenever the door opened itself or a window closed itself or anything like that occurred, someone would always say, "Come in, Aunt Phoebe. Are you cold, Aunt Phoebe?"

It's just the family ghost, is all.

Weird.

I was thinking about starting a thread about signs today. I got up this morning and checked my email to find a note that required a rather in depth reply. I began typing and about 3/4 the way through the power went out. I wasn't feeling that great about the response to begin with and figured I'd go ahead and start again when the power returned. Twice more this happened, each time, my response felt off somehow. I finally gave up for a little while and when I returned, my head seemed clear and my emotions were clear and the response was perfect. And this time ... no power outage.

Things that make you go, "Hmmm..."

My favorite story is the Ghost of Flight 401.

The night of December 29, 1972, Eastern Airlines Flight 401 crashed into the Everglades on approach to Miami.

One hundred and one of the 176 aboard died. One of the dead was the Flight Engineer, Don Repo.

Eastern salvaged some parts from the L-1011 and installed them on their aircraft and sold other parts to other airlines.

Repo's ghost started to appear on flights made by those aircraft, often in cockpits. And sometimes in the below deck galley which was so small, flight attendants worked their alone.

One reported sighting occured when a flight attendant challenged a uniformed pilot saying he was not on the manifest. We he failed to respond, she went to the cockpit and returned with the Captain. The Captain knew Repo on sight. Repo then dematerialized in sight of a dozen people.

One old woman commented to a Flight Attendant she hated to fly, but the nice young uniformed pilot sitting next to her had been a great comfort. The stewardess checked the manifest. The seat had been empty.

One story I always heard, was on one flight the Flight Engineer during the flight, went below to an equipment Bay (where Repo by the way was when his flight crashed). On climbing back into the cockpit, the Pilot & co-pilot heard the Flight Engineer gasp. Turning to see why, all three saw Repo in the Flight Engineers seat. Repo said aloud, "There will never be another crash of an L-1011. Rumor has it, the flight recorder caught his voice.

The L-1011 did have accidents, but overall is regardeed as pretty safe airplane.
