setting: similar to a world like underworld, its dark there is a war going between the vampires and the lycan's that have been going on for centuries. The war has gotten heated and is starting to spill over into humanity itself. There are all kinds of unexplained happenings in this world and the ultimate plot of the powers at be has yet to be revealed.

if you want to join just pm me your character concept and we will go from there.

My name is Rosylind and I'm a 5th generation vampire, Second only to the elders, I did my time as a Deathdealer and now am more of a general then a footsoldier. I'm 5'4 110lbs with dark black shoulder length hair. My eyes are hazel. 34 c chest size 2.

I turn the light on and then walk into the cavernous room before me, there are several 100 shelves throughout the room, all filled with books. I'm getting ready to plan our next attack on the lycan's and hopefully our final battle. I look up to the ceiling, The ceiling is a dome and has windows at the top of it so you can see out. I notice the moon is full, which means the lycans will be out in full force tonight, i send out the deathdealers just to monitor their activity, i can't afford for anything to go wrong tonight for the tomorrow is the ceremony for one of the elders to be awakened, and i'm the only one that can preform the ceremony all the others have perished and its my chance to finally take my place in the heiarchy i deserve.

while i'm studying away i notice something out of the corner of my eye.

OOC

Richard Barton
Age: 25
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 165
Race: Half human, half falcon
Occupation: Monster Hunter.
Bio: Kicked out of his village for having dark black wings (as opposed to white like the rest of the villagers). Makes his living as a monster hunter, and hires himself to any village willing (and able) to pay for his services. He's one of the best at what he does, and makes no distinction between lycan and vampire. He doesn't care what he's hunting as long as he gets paid.
Weapons: wields a sword, whip and crossbow that fires several varieties of regular and magically charged bolts.
Abilities: Able to see long distances, and also has excellent hearing. Wings allow him to fly for short distances as well as hover in one spot. Is also much faster than a regular human, and has limited control of the wind.

I walked into town not knowing what to expect. The place was deserted, but filled with the stench of vampires and werewolves. Obviously a great battle had occured here, and the humans that once lived here had been caught in the crossfire. There was no money to be made here. I looked around for a while, when I happened upon a tavern. The place was a mess, but at least there were a few bottles of liquor still intact. I grabbed myself a bottle of vodka and took a quick swig as I left the place. Heck, they're not gonna miss it. It'd be a terrible waste to just leave it sitting there on a shelf. Good thing this stuff didn't affect our kind as much as it affected humans. There weren't any creatures around, so I figured this'd be a good place to rest up. I had been traveling a while after all. I looked around and noticed some movement in a mansion on the outskirts of the city. It was the only sign of life I'd seen since I got here. I figured it was worth checking it out, and decided to head over.

The place was thick with the stench of vampires. They were obviously holed up here. I ventured inside, treading carefully as I moved towards the library, where I'd seen the movement. I peered in the entrance to see a female vampire busy studying. She looked up and I reached for my trusty sword, figuring I didn't have enough time to load my crossbow with a bolt. I didn't usually fight vampires when there was no money on the table, but I wasn't about to let her sink her fangs into me either.

After catching something out of the corner of my eye, i couldn't see anything for sure but i went on alert. My hearing attuned to that of a dog i scan the room with my hearing and my eyes. I stand up revealing my seductive outfit, after all later tonight i was to host a dinner before the ritual tomorrow. I am wearing a tight cream colored blouse with silver trim, silver hoop earrings a nice platnium diamond necklace some rings and bracelets each having a special meaning to them, a black leather skirt, with thigh high black stockings and some black stilletto heels.

Out of my garter i pull a gun, not my weapon of choice but its effective against almost any opponent, and i can't waste any energy that is unnecessary because tomorrows ritual will be enough to wipe me out for a couple days.

I stand up and move towards where i saw the movement, and i say outloud reveal yourself and you might get a chance to live to see the sunlight.

"Ha ha ha, you say that as if you actually had a chance of defeating me vampire."

I step out into the light, unsheathing my sword.

"Relax vamp, I have no desire to fight you. Just consider yourself lucky no one's hired me to kill you. Of course, if you want to pick a fight, I'd be more than happy to give you one."

So you know what I am but apparently you don't know who I am. You'll be dead before you even get close enough to use that sword. I then whistle and less then a second later 10 vampires with crossbows drawn appear above us on what is the second level off the library. They have the upper ground and you're obviously trained to have made it this far in the mansion without getting detected. Now i don't have time to waste with a pathetic fight right now. Nor do we wanna shed any blood right now before the awakening. Lay down your weapons and speak your business here and we will let you leave with your life.

"Bah. You're no fun at all. Typical. Like I said I'm not looking for a fight. I happened upon the deserted village and then saw something going on here, figured I'd check it out."

He turned to walk back out of the room, but stopped and looked back.

"Oh, you are, however, wrong about one thing. I could take you and your two bit lackeys if I wanted to. Obviously you don't know who I am either. Richard Barton's the name. Perhaps you've heard of it? Should have, seeing as how many of your kind have fallen against me."

The name isn't familiar but yeah something has been killing our underlings besides the lycan's, but while most of the ones you have killed have been 9th and 10th generations not nearly close to the power of me or the 10 you see standing up there.

While i'm impressed that it might of been you killing our underlings especially for a human (huffs). I'll bite your bait and take it that your for hire considering your mercenary attitude.

"I don't work for vampires. A little advice before I go though. It doesn't do to underestimate your opponents." I know fully well how powerful you and your friends are. Believe me, I don't pick fights I can't win. And by the way, I'm no human."

I sheathed my sword and walked out of the room. I felt for sure that something big was going on, and that meant bad news for everyone. I knew she'd probably have one of her underlings follow me. I'd baited my trap well. Vampires had an insufferable need to prove their superiority over everything else. It was a weakness easily manipulated, and it was only a matter of time before I found out what was going on. Sure enough, I could sense the pressence of at least one vampire following me around, perhaps more. Fools all of them.

after he walks away i send out 2 vampires to follow him and find out what they can. While i know he is smart enough to know I will send someone to follow him it can still reveal what kind of person i'm dealing with. If he has a price I'll find it out. I send 2 more vampires out to find more information on who he is by other means. I don't ask how they find these things out i just know who to send to find the information i want.

Knowing he got inside the mansion so easily i increase the guard duty and go back to studying because i can't afford to screw this up tomorrow. If i screw this up i can kiss my aspirations good bye.

Sifting through the pages of the old tomes I come upon something I was never told about, It appears to be the history of our kind and the lycans, We were once 2 noble races living side by side and then the page is torn and text is missing. Then i turn the page and its talking about how my family was targeted by then the pages are ripped and torn out. I must find out about the missing information. I'll complete the ritual tomorrow then i'll take it upon myself to find the missing information, not like there is any rush after all i'm immortal.

I lit myself a cigarette as I walked back to the town. The vamps were still following me, just as I'd planned. I loaded a wooden bolt into the crossbow hidden in my trenchcoat, making sure not to let the vamps see me. I walked into a dark alleyway, took out my crossbow and shed my trenchcoat, allowing my wings to stretch out some. The vamps were following far behind, obviously thinking I wouldn't be able to see them from so far away. Amateurs. I flew right at them, launching a bolt right into one of the vamps chest. I was upon them before they had a chance to react, and as the first vamp turned to ash, I was already closing on the second. I came up from behind, putting the vamp into a full nelson. Obviously he wasn't expecting me to be quite this strong or fast.

"Consider yourself lucky vamp, I need one of you alive. Now why don't you tell me exactly what your lovely boss is up to."

The vampire struggled to get away from me, but I had him.

"I'm not telling you a thing. I'd rather die."

"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. See, there are worse things than death. You vamps may be immortal, but you're not invulnerable. I'm going to get the information I want out of you one way or the other. It's up to you whether we do it the easy way or the hard way."

That night was a long one. The vamp I'd captured was a stubborn one. I took him back to the tavern, tying him up in a room using some special rope designed to weaken vampires. The vampire refused to tell me anything at first, but I'm good at what I do. It didn't take long for him to spill his guts and tell me everything he knew. Now that I knew that this vampire Rosylind was looking to awaken an elder vampire, I knew I had to stop her somehow. But first thing's first. I had some loose ends to tie up. I turned to the captive vampire.

"Sorry pal, this just isn't your lucky day."

I grabbed a stake I'd left on the nearby desk and stuck the bastard right in the heart. I lit another cigarette and began getting my equipment ready. It's always a good idea to be prepared after all.

Whew I'm finished. I closed the book i had the ritual planned, and now it was time to head to my chambers, but an unease overcame me after remembering the stuff i saw in the books earlier that evening. I decide that its nagging me more then it should so maybe i should go in search of answers. I call my 2 closest bodygaurds a girl named Lindsey (she is more my plaything then anything) and a brute named Vector.

Before i head out i call all 4 of the vampires i sent out.
The 2 Tailing him didn't didn't respond hmmm interesting he must of discovered them just as i expected, no major loss they were caitiff anyway. I got in contact with the other 2 to see if they found out anything. Apparently he is half bird half man and bares a grudge against both lycans, and vampires.

Well its only a couple hours until daylight and i've got some business to attend to Follow me Vector and Lindsey. We are on our way to Atticus the keeper of records, and the only one that keeps neutral records of the lycans and vampires.

I was almost ready to go. I left my trenchcoat behind, choosing to carry my equipment on me. It meant I had less ammo, but more maneuverability, and I'd need all the speed I could get for this mission. I strapped on my shoulder belt, which carried several stakes and bolts for my crossbow. My belt also carried many of my bolts, and also my whip and sword. I strapped my crossbow to my back, lit another cigarette and headed out.

They'd know by now that I had finished off their spies, so I had to be ready for some heavy security. I'd have to be careful this time. No sense getting overconfident.

as i'm heading out the door i decide to call in all the troops and put the mansion on complete lockdown. Noone else enters and noone else exits. I have them put up sound barriers and laserbeam alarms, that trip multiple torrents not to mention a deafing sound and strobes that flash bright light on and off. Okay i be back at nightfall to do the ceremony. I leave Jess in charge she is a strong 6th generation vampire and i sired her myself so her loyalties belong to me and no other.

Come Vector and Lindsey. we have business to attend to. I hop in my Mercedes sedan and we are on our way an hour across the countryside to see Atticus.

As I approach the mansion, I see the security I'm up against. I have to hand it to these guys, they really went out of their way to keep people out. Seems I ruffled their feathers a bit too much. It didn't look like I was going to be getting in there any time soon. I could probably take a few of their number out, but the mansion was too heavily fortified. I decided to scrap the whole mission and camp out until I had a better shot to get in. Just as I was leaving, I noticed a car driving off into the countryside. Upon looking closer I saw that Rosylind was one of three vamps inside. Seeing as how I wasn't getting into her mansion, I figured I might as well follow her instead. I took to the air, keeping my distance as I followed her from the air.

about an hour passes and we finally arrive at Atticus's place. I get out of the car and tell Vector and Lindsey to follow and stand guard near the door and to alert me if they notice anything unusual. Lindsey being a master of invisibility blends right into the scenery and is undetectable with anything short of radar. Vector stands there looking like he is alone. I go walk right inside and head towards the basement thats where he normally likes to stay. I start down the 3 stories of stairs and hear some creeking behind me. i hurry downstairs and knock on the door. I hear an Old deep and wise voice say you may enter. I enter and there in front of a giant book writing away is An old man probably about 6foot tall long gray hair and a long gray beard a yellowish tint to his skin and the voice gets kinda raspy even as deep as it is. Can i help you Rosylind i haven't seen you in a couple centuries now, you must come for answers. Yes I do. What can you tell me about the targeting of my family and my being sired, as well as the history before this war between the lycans started. well sit down and relax and when the time is right i'll tell you about these things but you must not waste to much energy for...

I saw Rosylind and a huge hulking beast of a vamp exit the car, but failed to see the third. Must be invisible. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Rosylind entered the building, while the brute stood gaurd. If I was going to do anything, I'd need to find out what happened to that third vampire. I was confident that I could take the big guy with my speed and agility levels, but knew I'd be no match for both him and an invisible vamp. I'd have to find her somehow. I sat very still, listening for any kind of sound that would clue me to her location. This vamp was good. She wasn't moving or making a sound at all. I could risk using my control of the wind to reveal her location, but doing that could also reveal my location to them as well. I was running out of options as I was having no luck in finding her. I was going to have to use the wind to find her. I built up my energy and formed a gust of wind that picked up several fallen leaves from the ground. If this wind hit her I would see where she was, and if she moved to avoid it I would hear it, and focus on that as well. Of course, chances were good she would figure out where the source was coming from, but at least I could still hear her coming.

Just as a gust of wind was forming and heading towards the vampires vector slapped a laser shield alarm system down on the ground and both Vector and Lindsey moved inside the mansion they were getting antsy standing outside and sure Rosylind wouldn't mind. about halfway down the hall he set down another alarm system and the way it works if even one is removed or tripped they both go off without the correct password entered. The arrive in the basement shortly after and see Rosylind drinking on some red wine and talking to the old man Atticus. Atticus then says that the time is almost right for me to reveal everything to you Rosylind.

"Damn it," I thought to myself as the vampires went inside. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear these guys were a bunch of cowards. Well, if I couldn't attack, I could at least watch what they were doing, perhaps hear what they were talking about. I moved to a better vantage point, getting just close enough to see and hear what was going on.

Atticus begins his telling of the past. Tells of the time when lycans and vampires worked side by side and helped shape the destiny of the human race. Over time several other races like half bird half man started popping up and wanted involved in the whole shaping of humankind. The lycans and the vampires differed in their views on how to handle these races. The Lycans wanted to include them in the plans as slightly lower subordinates, the vampires who want nothing but true power would not accept this and eventually broke into violence. The First Vampire and the First Lycan were both destroyed in this battle, the 2nd and 3rd generation vampires became the Elders, the 4th generation were used for some time then eventually killed off by the Elders because they knew to much but could not be trusted. You Rosylind your family was targeted and destroyed because You possess a blood trait in your family line that makes you capable of adapting to any of these races at will possibly taking on the strengths of each without any of the weaknesses. There was a prophecy of One that once was a Human uniting the races and destroying the evil that is One of the 5th generation with family no more. You Rosylind have the power to shape the planet for good or bad but its up to you to chose you path. and with that Atticus goes back to working on writing history for while he is a being of extreme power he is forbidden by the gods to act only record and reciet history.

Hmm, interesting. Seems there's more to this one than I thought. Maybe I've been approaching this situation from the wrong angle. Maybe if I align myself with her, I might be able to convince her to help. Besides, deep down she's just like me. Betrayed by her own kind and cast aside like yesterdays garbage.

as I turn to walk out Atticus says one more thing, don't think for one minute they ever cared about you or allowed you to rise up the ranks because of your talent alone, they needed you to be blinded by your duties and they just plan needed you if they ever intended on winning this war. I see, and i tell Vector and Lindsey to follow. We will be going to bed now do you have any rooms for us Atticus. down the hallway 3rd and 4th doors on your right. I head to my room and drag Lindsey with me Vector you can have the other one. And we enter and plan to sleep for the day.

Hmm. Looks like they're getting ready to rest for the day. Once they go to sleep I'll head inside and do some research of my own. I'm sure there's more to this story, and perhaps there's something about black-winged Windians in there. As far as I know, I'm the first one to appear since our history has been recorded. There's got to be something important about my existance. There just has to...

well Lindsey and I kiss and then prepare for bed we can't be wasting much time with the ritual tomorrow even with the new information i still have duties to preform. I can't let anyone know about this new information i know about. I kiss her one more time and snuggle up close to her and fall asleep.

*ooc feel free to do your research and atticus however you like*
