Crayola Crayon Colors...

Thank you so much for posting this. Interesting info concerning the re-naming of such colors as Flesh and Indian Red.

Also took me back to how much I loved a new box of crayons with those lovely sharp points soon to become ugly stubs. I still recall one special joy of childhood: a new box of 64 Crayolas.

Gr. :)

They retired burnt umber??? :( That was my favorite crayon. I don't know why, but I loved that color name when I was a kid. *pouts*

What color is "outer space" (black?)

And I'd be interested in seeing Timber Wolf.

I hated the flesh tone. It made skin look like the fake woodgrain laminate on my mom's coffee table.

Purple Mountain's Majesty makes the mind boggle! These must be US colours - UK ones were never that flamboyant - I think auquamarine was the most exciting one I remember - yes it was a long time ago!

I'm mostly colorblind. You have no idea how screwed up the comics I tried to draw in color ended up being due to that little fact.

I pretty much envy the lot of you who enjoy the differences between the many facets of the spectrum. Everything looks the same as something else to me (red/green, green/brown, blue/purple, green/yellow, green/blue, it's all the same at some point to me).

Your shirt is blue, love.

Lol, thank you so much for that site. I saw electric lime and remembered we colored large rolls of paper with that (took many boxes of crayons to get enough of that color) and pasted it around a friends car on her birthday at Uni. Closest thing we could do for her request to have her car painted bright green;)

Come to think of it we probably had to much to drink when we came up with that idea :D
