-Scenario-
Year 3224, Earth Alliance Exploration Ship 'USS Nile' has been on a deep space mission to the outer reaches of explored space. They have had a violent run-in with notorious space pirates, 'The Union' -a league of both Human and Gaross( warrior-like alien species) people who are seeking piracy as a way of increasing their power and might in the distant sector. The last run in left the ship short on power, supplies and most importantly, weaponry. They are not likely to make it back to Earth anytime in the near future. Their voyage out to their present location took over a year at normal speeds and with normal power. At the rate they are now limping back, they'd be lucky to make it home within a lifetime, and likely won't unless they can find an intelligent species willing to help them out or trade. Only, they have found that in the area of space they have been left stranded in the nearest 'Ally' homeworld is about two years travel away and they only have enough fuel to make it another seven or eight months.

Captain Rowena Zanir has decided their best bet for survival at this point is to land their ship on the nearest habitable planet and send out a distress beacon. Hopefully, with luck, someone will hear and come to their rescue within, at most, few months...she hopes.

Soon the crew of the USS Nile discover they are not alone on this uncharted world they have landed on and been surviving for nearly a month on. Someone has been observing them. Soon, the Humans will come in contact with another race they have not detected and never met before, The Urtme.

The Urtme are very curious about the humans, and though they're not technologically advanced like the humans, they know much more about survival on this strange world than the humans do and there is much the humans could learn from the Urtme if they can be friendly...

I need human characters, especially the Captain: Rowena Zanir
These can be first come, first serve.

However, if you want to play an Urtme character PM me to discuss your character before posting.

-My Character-

Urtme Female:

Sei Tu
Age: 34 Lifespan: 120 earth years
Race: Urtme
Appearance: Long limbed but curvy in the right places, Sei has typical Urtme silver skin and light blue eyes. Her 'hair' is white. She looks angelic and beautiful to most humans, and is quite attractive to Urtme.

Urtme look much like humans do but their skin is softer and appears silvery colored. Men are covered in grey hair from head to toe but the women are hairless except for a fine feathery down on their heads that can vary in length and can be any color from white, cream, shades of yellow, pink and silver. Just like humans the women are more petite than the men.

On her world females live in colonies and outnumber men ten to one. Women are bisexual and usually live in pairs or trios, pleasing each other and helping to raise each other's children. Men go out to work, explore, hunt, and marriages are arranged. A man will have a 'wife' in every colony he visits and return to the same one or two women in every port, those are his wives but he sees each one perhaps two or three times per year. He has much work to do, as he is the primary provider for all of his families.

My character, Sei, has a companion female Wara and Wara has three young children from Moru, her husband. Sei is married to Xent but has only seen him on their wedding night. He has been missing the past year and is suspected dead. Sei and Wara are life companions and Sei helps to raise Wara's children with her and the two women share a bed and pleasure one another.

Sei is the main 'ambassador' between the humans and Urtme.

Player

You know I'll play with you Halo.:kiss:

I can play either end, an Urtme, or an earthling. Tell me which you'd prefer me to play, and I'll post a character.

OOC: How about the 'USS Nile''s first officer? He'd have plenty of opportunity to get right in there with command and the locals then.

-Planet "Good Enough"-
-0750 hrs-

It was another rainy day, most days on this alien world began with rain,it later would have a sunny, dry period that was hotter than most humans could stand for long and then a cool, windy night. That was the daily weather routine ecept for the occasional thunderstorm or hurricaine. The day was about twenty hours long instead of the human twenty-four so the weather shifts never ceased to take the human crew by surprise, even after over a month on the planet.

Of the ship's systems that still worked well in the extreme weather, the distress beacon was still signalling their distress message out to space and their electricity and heat had some limited energy left in the ship's power systems. They slept inside the ship but it was cramped and after a year on the cramped-quarters vessel the crew were loathe to spend more than the hours necessary on board, preferring most of the time to explore and familiarize themselves with the planet instead.

To conserve energy to the ship's systems they were only using the power during the cold nights when they would get indoors from the winds and sleep in their normal crew quarters, two or four to a room (in a crew of thirty-four). That meant that the rainy mornings required warm rain gear.

Food stores were starting to get low so The Captain ordered Commander Jones to take a team out into the forest and hunt and forrage for food and water, and any other resources that might save the ship's power systems. It was early and the rain was still pretty heavy. The group entering the woods did not look like a lively, happy bunch as they followed Commander Jones.

I gathered a few people as Commander Zanir had ordered and asked Security Officer Wilson if he was going to accompany us on the search for food.

We set out just after day break wearing the warmest rain gear we could find. It was just enough to keep our teeth from chattering into our communicators as we spoke to eachother.

Having no clue what was edible on this planet, our first goal was to find something to drink and something we could use as a power source.

Stumbling through the forest, we hit a gold mine. There was a water hole about 250 yards from our ship. There were what appeared to be fish swimming in it as well. We filled as many containers as we had with the water, and were able to catch a couple of the "fish" they looked similar to the now extinct earth salmon.

The entire time we were by the water hole, I couldn't seem to shale the feeling that we were being watched.

Sei was taking the clan's children out on a nature walk. It was always nicest for them to see the weedra swim during the rains, early in the day. The weedra slept when their water hole was still and the vibrations of the rain sent them dancing all around. She was somewhat of a local teacher to the clan's children taking them in small groups to show them things like this often, enjoying the questions and enthusiasm of the little ones. They were communicating in their lowest voices, almost without sound so the swimming animals would not be startled but then they heard loud loises, grumbling and screeching coming from just over the hill. Sei knew the vessel with 'The Unknowns' was beyond the hill. No one from the colony was allowed to go there for fear that the aliens might be violent. She was curious but not wanting to put the children in any danger so she bade them all to stay silent and still, and she hid with the six small ones behind some brush to watch the strangers as they took the weedra from their watery home, killing them. Some of the children cried in silence as they watched the scene unfold. Sei indicated with a wave of her hand that they must remain still and quiet but she had a feeling one of 'The Unknowns' had heard them.

Sam

The feeling of being watched intensified in Sam. "Ok people, I think we need to get back to the ship. Something doesn't feel quite right." He started to usher the people back to the ship when he thought he heard the faintest of whimpers. Turning he thought he saw a female form hiding behind some brush and started to approach her.

Little Sensi had stumbled and almost fell out of their hiding spot. Sei rose from her position to grab the child before she gave away the hiding spot of all of them....too late. Just as Sei grabbed hold of Sensi and pulled the girl to her she looked up into the face of an alien. He was pinkish in color and his green eyes grew wider when she looked up, little Sensi screamed and the rest of the children began to cry. Sei made a soothing vibration noise (akin to a human shhhhh) and the children quieted, wimpering just a little as they looked up at the 'monster' as they called him. Sei tilted her head and looked upon this 'Unknown'. Despite the bad timing she supposed now was as good as ever for a first contact. She attempted a greeting in he rlanguage but the people behind the stranger covered their ears. Their language sounded like grumbles and she attempted to greet them in that way...

" -ello?" she tried. She'd heard them greet each other in similar ways as she'd watched them before.

Sam

Sam couldn't believe what he saw. The creature was stunningly beautiful. Her silver body shimered as the rain fell onto her skin. Somehow her white hair seemed uneffected by it and looked downy soft.

"I don't know if you can understand me" he said tentatively, "but I mean you no harm. My people and I were only looking for food as our supply is running very low." Sam could not take his eyes off of her magnificent form. Her light blue eyes shown like nothing he had ever seen.

He wasn't sure how to react to her. And judging by the curves of her bodies, it was definitely female.

Sei listened to his speech and attuned her inner ear to the grumbles, adjusting to the sounds and comparing it instantly with the twenty-three other languages she was fluent in...ah, a little like Kopaian she thought, soon switching to the rare ancient tongue of their extinct subspecies. "I...name...Sei. You.... hunger have?" she asked, understanding he was talking about hunger and using the delicate swimming animals as a food source.

Sei motioned for one of the other children, little Rasni, to come forward and hand her his back pack. She opened it and brought out some dried fruit they had been carrying for their morning snack. There would be time for her and the children to go back to the clan food tents and get more later, this was more important. Sei took the sack of dried fruits and carefully reached out with her long fingers to place it into his hand. "Eat-able..." she pointed to the trees above their heads, "Dried fruit...grows...in trees...sits... mid-day... in sun...on rocks, ready next day....take them."

Sam

Her broken english was a little hard to understand at first, but as he adjusted he realized what she was saying and doing. She was offering he fruit to them, and that the fruit was fron the trees all around them and it was edible. "I bet she wants us to eat the fruit instead of more fish" he thought. "Thank you" he said as she handed the bag to him. For the first time, he noticed her fingers they were long, but exquisitly shaped. "Is there a power source" he asked hoping she'd understand. "Our ship is running out of power and it gets very cold at night".

"Pwer?" asked Sei. She pointed to the sun and said, "Heat... we get...heat...from...sky and from..." she made an indication with her fingers as she searched for the word, "...fire." she said with a smile. She sent the children back to ther clan houses alone. She decided they didn't need to be here for this and it was safer for them to be in their homes while she learned more about these strangers. She pointed to herself, "Sei." she then pointed to the green eyed one who spoke for the group. "You?" She wanted to know his name.

"Fire, yeah I think we can manage that." he said, feeling stupid.
""Sei." she then pointed to the green eyed one who spoke for the group. "You?"
"Sam" he said pointing to himself. Sam for the first time had really noticed, the woman was naked. He body was so firm and her curves held so tight he had just assumed she had some sort of uniform on. But he was wrong. Now he really couldn't take his eyes off her.

"Sam." repeated Sei. She nodded and tried to remember it. "Sam...cold?" she asked, seeing all the coverings they had on. She guessed their race's skin was not water proof or self-insulating like hers was. "Sei can...fire make for Sam...and Sam friends." she offered, pointing to the area where his ship was waiting. Sei was not as afraid of these strangers as her own people were. She was extremely curious more than anything else. She wanted to know how they lived and where they came from. She thought helping them adapt to the planet was a good way to start.

Sam

"Yes, we're cold" he said to her. "Please..." he said as he motioned for her to folow them to the ship. He let her walk past him and followed her. Her steps were so smooth, she appeared to float. He knew she was stepping as he watched her, the gentle sway of her naked hips was almost hypnotizing.

Tyler

(OOC, Sorry for the delay in my response.)

IC: Tyler held his rifle in a tight grip. He did not point it at anyone but he would not hesitate to use it if necessary. He did not feel a threat from the silver colored woman but he knew that danger can come from anyone. Even someone as beautiful as this stunning looking woman.

As they started to walk he stepped up to walk beside Sam. Tyler was curious about this woman. Curious and cautious. He kept his finger on the trigger of his rifle. Giving Sam a look that told the First Officer that Tyler was not completely trusting of this peaple.

Sam

Sam gave Tyler a simple motion to relaxe. He didn't want to say anything in fear of scaring this woman off. She appeared ready to help them if she could. He wasn't going to let Tyler do anything to harm her either. He had a feeling that would lead to all out war with her people.

Tyler

Tyler shrugged his shoulders at Sam's motion but did as he wanted. He was still ready for anything but his weapon was held at his side. He was still able to turn it right into shooting position with on simple movement. He felt his eyes being drawned to the naked woman that walked in front of them. He cursed silently. This distraction was not what he needed right now.

Sei led the way, noting the weapons but that they were not currently pointed at her so she wasn't nervous about them. She walked to where a group of three others with similar clothing as those she had met in the forest waited by the ship. They area they were in had a rain roof of sorts they were calling 'tarp'.

They all stared at Sei, gape-jawed, and she smiled and waved, "-ello, Sei fire make for you." she said gathering moist twigs and a log from the underbrush.

She set the log aside for the moment and knealt upon the ground digging with one of the sticks so that there was a large round indentation for a fire pit. She blew from her hot air deposit in the back of her throat into her cupped hands, this caused hot steam to form there and she rubbed each stick with her hands while she blew hot air upon them, drying them out. She then set the sticks into a pyramid over the hole and thenmotioned for the others to back up for a moment. She then struck the scratchy underside of her tongue-tip against the knob at the back of her throat that controlled her hot air deposit's heat and blew a huge breath toward the stick pile. A small ball of flame erupted from Sei's mouth and lit the sticks on fire, they caught flame immediately and soon she was able to dry out the log and set it atop the now steadily burning fire.

The strangers that surrounded her seemed impressed. A few looked a little frightened although some cheered and smiled their thanks. She smiled back and nodded. She was surprised they didn't seem to be able to make fire for themselves. Their ancestors also had no hot air notch at the back of their throats, she wondered if these aliens had none either. She pointed to the fire and smiled as she approached Sam and the one with the weapon. "Sei make fire...Sam can no fire make?"
