A few weeks ago 2 of our turtles died and the kids were really upset and cried. Now I have found the last one dead. It is sitting kind of wedged under a rock so I think I am going to leave it until Tuesday and hope they do not notice until after Christmas and that it doesn't start smelling.

It is one of the little half dollar size turtles so movement is not a major site, it could work out as long as it doesn't begin to smell.

Not sure I can agree, what if they find it?

If they find it I will deal with it but with everything going on this week I do not think they will. I just want to gt them through Christmas before they get upset about it.

Not that my two cents means anything but I have to agree with Merelan. What about if they pick out new turtles as a Christmas present?

Uh Oh!

Well, What I would say, and am saying; Is that you should reach down into the tank pull the dead reptile out and then head for the nearest aquarium store and purchase a slew of neat fishies!
The kids will be so surprised to see all them fish and probably won't be as upset that the turtle is dead!

Bobo, my childhood turtle kicked the bucket after owning him for a year! He was wonderful, and I could not have known a better turtle. I dug a hole in the backyard and buried him, then hurried to the fish store and bought myself a pair of kissing gourami's!
They used his home for a while and then died too. Then after a few more times to the store and a few more deaths and burials, I gave up.
I am a Murderer of Fish and all marine life!

Better yet, go get a puppie and they'll never look at the tank again!

Be Well,

That was my first thought but with my husbands schedule the next time I will have a car to get anywhere is Christmas day.

We just bought a new and bigger tank for the turtle and when we get it set up we will get new ones, fish and maybe a little frog too.

No puppies!!! As is no one helps take care of the kids, turtles, cats or anything else around here. I do not need another job added to my daily list.

Okay, but whatever you do witht he new set up, please make sure they are compatible and hardy. Many times people at the shops have no idea. Speak to someone that knows, if you don't.
