Hey there.

I really love stories that involve a coven of women who choose men to breed with them with a high priestess helping to direct the choosing of who couples with who. I also love stories of ritualistic sexual acts and higher vibrational sexual encounters that harness energetic influences. Anyone want to collaborate on writing pieces that incorporate this?

How about setting this as a modern day secret society operating behind closed doors, a la 'Eyes Wide Shut'... but run by women..?

The women could have a 'selection committee' which chooses the men. These may already be married or attached but be made into 'victims' through blackmail or maybe abduction and drugging.

I personally would forget all the ritual stuff and have this 'club' made up of women who are dissatisfied with their husbands or simply wanting to have plenty of variety...

It could masquerade publicly as something squeaky clean like a local women's organisation.

Women meeting away from husbands/boyfriends. Maybe discussion of a particular book with steamy episodes leads to a discussion about lacklustre spouses. Maybe a particular member with a cheating history puts forward an idea, jokingly. Maybe the joking stops after realisation sets in that something might actually be achievable. Maybe a certain amount of planning starts. Maybe one particular woman with organisational skills starts to dominate proceedings... a 'high priestess'...

No idea why you thought it offensive. Purely factual that this idea used to hit the big screen fairly regularly as poorly acted B movie shlok. Nothing wrong with it in principle nor in your suggesting it. As you and I have both said, there are multiple possibilities in how it could develop.

College students one possibility, for sure - in fact I myself have written something along those lines. Older women looking for more youthful packages than the tired stuff which comes with their husbands. Absolutely.

For me, almost the main 'hook' here is the 'organised' nature of what happens. That gets to me. I just don't go much for the ritual/coven side which takes the reader away from the feeling that it could be true and really happening. A dampener.

Sounds like you could go either for mystical/weird-science here ('vibrational', 'energetic influences') or as a scam. Or both - it looks like a scam but the priestess is a true believer who gains benefits from "proper" encounters, whatever that ends up being. Or it looks like a cult/weird religion and is really a scam.

Or, for the REALLY twisty approach, layer it repeatedly. Looks like a religion. On investigation/exploration/experiencing, it starts to stink like a scam. Then it turns out there ARE weird effects that benefit someone/someThing...

What binds the coven together? What keeps the high priestess in charge?

This could be enculturation - they just keep going doing what their mothers did, and their mothers, back for a long time.
- If so, one substory might be someone trying to leave the coven, or someone trying to join it and either way having culture shock

This could be social/political/financial power

This could be mystical

This (again) could be a combination of some mix of the above...

Obviously... it's a long running breeding program, with aim to unlock psy/magical abilities in select children, women, to be specific. Abilities powered by sexual energy, transmutation power of love and lust. A mix of ancient Egyptian, Celtic and a bit of Greek mythology, perhaps some hindu ideas to mix in, all heavily misinterpreted (but no need to try to explain), the thing is, it's a secret cult surviving in secret for millennia.

Once, long ago, they used to run temple prostitution: select high society virgins recruited for a timed service, often leading to a pregnancy with a select breeding mate, the fact covered up, the child brought up within, the girl released and married off as appropriate (it's not much of a stretch, some such happened in several independent places historically). Christianity and Islam forced them underground; inquisition, communism, nazism, CIA, all delt serious blows in their time, perhaps even loss of continuity in some places, but later regimes also performed their own experiments; indirectly contributing.

Anyhow... the success rate is rather low. While most of their "special" children are very healthy and beautiful and good education is arranged, perhaps only one in ten are noticeably brighter than the background, and psy/magic talents rarer still, even rather questionable at all, although some such claims exist... the high priestesses are certainly extremely persuasive; limited soft mind control powers believed; their charms irresistible... but the real thing is always believed just one generation away, if the great plan goes uninterrupted; globalization of the world helps a lot.

By the book of modern secret organizations, they run small, weakly interconnected local cells; the bottom ranks not even knowing they're involved in anything beyond mundane. So there's a book club, a gym group, perhaps even weight watchers circle, no obvious connection, just perhaps some overlapping members.

Behind the scenes there's an escort service of the highest quality, populated, among others, by girls having not an idea their time is paid for in advance: it just so happens they're in the right place at the right time, and certain gentleman seems very attentive and able to guess her interests... while enjoying guarantees of immaculate background of the girl and no predatory claims afterwards, and the thrill of genuine seduction. But then there's also even more secretive freelance spy agency taking jobs from three-letter organizations and utilizing numerous sleeper agents everywhere and soft influence only professional mistresses can exert. Beyond that, only select talent are recruited in the league of magic rituals, the inner circle.

Enough of world building...

So, there's a girl... Alice.

She's a daughter of a single mother, poor, young, beautiful, very bright, and with reasonable talent with, say, cello. Years ago she received very high quality instrument as gift through the school, and had trained diligently, and she's good, shy and modest and doesn't think she's anything special. She's nudged to apply for an international competition, it's not cheap, but she receives some help to go there and places second, losing to a spoiled starlet with aggressive stage mom. Not for cheap intrigue in plain sight, she might have won; not the best aftertaste, but somehow expected.

But as a result, one of the judges, a famous female professor invites her to a series of master classes, overseas. She accepts the opportunity, even if a bit uncomfortable she's unable to pay for it. But the professor welcomes her in her house (rather a mansion), seemingly as family. It's just so happens a certain young heir of an international business empire is visiting... and things happen... it's a short dream, and kept secret, especially from her mother. The next surprise is, the prestigious college next door offers her a scholarship. She full well suspect who's paying, and yes, feel a bit dirty... but fuck them, she's taking every opportunity and staying... And perhaps that's a way the rich Rick is hinting there might be future between them...

She joins a book club -- to improve her language skills, and happen upon a super-discount coupon for the local gym. She's a bit surprised when reading suggestions at the reading club turns towards occult, but it binds well with the special yoga class her dance instructor invited her for, so her interest is growing... her true training had begun.

Meanwhile, Markus is decommissioned from the special forces unit after a failed mission. Becoming driver/bodyguard of the rich Rick isn't what his personal ambitions call for, but it's a job, and he's in dire need for some. That he's destined by secret cult to be Alice's designated breeding mate, at the time when Alice will take control over her future husband's empire, neither would have dreamed.

Well, if you haven't guessed yet, not only Alice herself, but her mom, never known dad, and maybe even grandparents alike have been part of a planned path, subject to testing and selection. Alice's education arranged in advance, nothing accidental in her life; professor a high-ranking priestess and her mentor; Rick a rich mark paying for her. Likewise, Marcus is a breed and proven ability to survive where most wouldn't, employed as future guardian, head of Alice's security aside from being true father of her children; their daughter hoped to be special.

I was looking for an interpretation of some love stories in dreams. Cause I've had some. But this is better. I would like to share something bizarre which happened to me some time back. But it was all things to do with my nightmares. It all seemed real because as I found out later it was sleep paralysis. You know, it's when you feel what happens in your dream. But this dream was a nightmare. I was laying in bed when somebody walked in - he was like a shadow. He approached me and simply was staring at me. Sorry, goosebumps, I thought he was gonna rape me! In such cases and similar ones you have to believe in yourself, but also not say “no” to help. I found help in Amanda's blog where she gives the explanation to a weird dream. It helps, it helps, guys!

Always one of my favourites and for sure a "B movie" standard as has been mentioned, though I certainly can't understand why an A version couldn't be done. I guess it's always been classified as downmarket or seedy, not worthy of serious treatment in any sense.

When you think what the Hobbit/Potter films have got away with in the fantasy area, you do wonder why nothing higher "class" has been applied to the OP's theme.

"Eyes Wide Shut" was about as close as anyone's come to an upmarket film exploration of large-scale sex. No covens etc.

As regards erotic writing, there must surely be already quite a lot on this theme, no?

I'm working on a story somewhat along these lines involving a secret "coven" of women for the Halloween contest. It's been several fitful years in the works but should finally be done this year. It's told from the point of view of an egotistical and narcissistic man who gets drawn in, bit by bit, without his realizing what is going on. There's lots of sex, which tends to blind him to the danger.
