Okay, so for this RP Im just going to GM. I'll play the royalty and other NPC's and try and motivate the plot forward, but I'm mostly hoping that the other participants will motivate most of the drama.
The setting is a realistic fantasy setting roughly analogous with the turn of the 19th century in Europe. Think Vanity Fair. However being a fantasy setting feel free to make characters of various races, religions, and incorporate anachronistic or cross cultural elements.
The characters are courtiers and courtesans. Each of you should have ambitions within the court, and be using whatever you have to achieve your goals.
Character Creation
Most of the things of interest in character creation are as you'd expect, though several are important for the kind of dram I'm trying to capture. The ambition is important, because it's going to define what you are going after. Why are you trying to seduce the Archbishops husband?
The Dark Secret is also important, it give the other players ways of interacting with your character, they can engage to try and reveal your secret which could lead to shaming or blackmailing you.
Important Facts: Give important information. Other players should keep this information in mind when you are in scene. So if you are "Charming beyond belief" no one should describe you saying something foolish, and if you're the "best warrior in all the land" no one should win a sword fight against you.
Name:
Concept:
Gender / Orientation:
Ambition:
Dark Secret:
Important Facts:
Physical Description:
Bio:
Also, include a way you relate with at least two other characters (other players or NPC's). For example "I owe the High Magistrate a great deal of money from gambling losses", or "The Lady Fortuna and I are in love".
Setting Creation
Please, add details about the world or the court in your post. I'll happily incorporate them all into the scenes and settings. Think factions, political parties, impending wars, notable places, economic realities, etc...
When we have a five or six players I'll make the (long) initial post on the IC thread establishing the current happenings and we can begin.
