In cahoots with PennyCleaver, an idea has surfaced which we've mulled over and would like a response to. It combines a couple of themes which have been aired on SI recently.

Firstly the thought of older citizens enjoying life to the full - with a healthy diet and lifestyle (and maybe chemical help!), people can keep their looks and vitality well beyond the age that used to be thought possible.

Secondly, someone mentioned ballroom dancing and the close proximity this can bring people into. This struck us as a possible route into the erotic.

We've proposed an older couple - 50s or older still - who are in that first category and who are on the look out for much younger sexual partners. They are expert ballroom dancers, having won many competitions and made a small fortune in the entertainment business. They have a large house with several of the rooms kitted out as smaller or larger dance studios. They organise an ongoing, free dance instruction course aimed specifically at local younger people/teenagers to "give something back to the community".

The story centers on their identifying one particular pair of young lovers - maybe childhood sweethearts? - who join their course. They single them out, separate them and concentrate on giving these their attention by way of "instruction". Days later each of the two youngsters receives a call inviting him/her back to the house and offering further individual help with their dancing. Each goes there, quite light-heartedly, thinking it's just for him/her, not realising that the other was also invited.

Some close, close... but separate (in different dance studios) tangos later... each ends up in the bed of the older partner (separate rooms) with some extended and intense, thorough fucking... and then, to their huge surprise and embarrassment, they meet while exiting the house later? Possible heartbreak and disillusionment for the two cheating youngsters? Used and discarded? Probable huge satisfaction and relish for the oldsters... who are now already busily contemplating their choice of other potential targets at the next group session, maybe having retained underwear as a trophy/souvenir to add to their cabinet..?

Nice idea. You'll get the "age police" onto you shortly, no doubt, but a bit of generational predation is certainly good fuel for my oven. For a lot of other posters of "a certain age" too, I think!

Age gap stories are my favorite subjects and I love this one. I have something similar in the works, with two older professional craftspersons and their young apprentices.

In your case, I'd go with a young couple who are recently engaged, recent college grads, and starting a life together. They have decided that they want to do something special during their wedding reception and decide that some slick dance moves will blow everyone's mind and create lifelong memories they will cherish forever.

Enter your mature couple. To them, this young couple is just too tasty to pass up. There's such eye and body contact and raised heart rates. The first few lessons are awkward and nervous, and there's not much thought to anything else, but the young couple have a knack for it and start to pick it up quickly.

After they start to feel comfortable, each becomes acutely aware of the other body pressing into theirs. The older man's trim physique and masculinity, with dark eyes that seem to bore into hers. The older woman's full curvy body, and her seductive perfume. Her hands seem to linger when they touch him on his bare arms and neck.

After a dozen lessons, the older couple decided to go for it. Each invites their student to a private lesson and the lesson ends with a kiss. Epic sex ensues and they see each other as they leave. Both with a heart full of regret and shame, but, knowing they just had the greatest sexual experience of their lives.

Do they get through it, at this early stage in the relationship? Use it to build a more sensual sexual relationship? Perhaps their next group session is just the two couples dancing with their actual partners and the young couple is starting to get into it, only to look over and see their teachers making out on a couch. The older woman is straddling her husband, grinding down on him and the youngsters are initially stunned before realizing that sex is just another dance.

In a flash, they are occupying the other end of the couch and a great and supremely fulfilling group sex session ensues.

Great idea and if I knew enough about dancing to be convincing, the names of the moves, etc, I would write this myself.

As a person who tends to like contrast on many levels, I have no issues, and often write myself; age-gap stories. I am in the midst of one now that is a mainstream novel with an exaggerated age gap no less!

What gets my creepy-radar up, is when I see "certain age" depicted just as that, with those words in quotes. I could be wrong, but it seems like dark web code for underage sex without actually saying it. I could be wrong of course, and hope that I am.

But if that is not what is being suggested, I like the idea. Dancing is very powerful and with two of my novels having powerful scenes involving dancing. In another lifetime perhaps, I might have taken dance lessons just so I could have broken out in the Lindie Hop at a spirted wedding.

In my experience, I've heard older guys like myself referred to as 'men of a certain age'.

Please be aware that the phrase means "older" or "senior" citizens. Basically a euphemism. We're talking the anglosphere outside America, of course.

Oh, good to know. I had seen it before and kind of thought that it was strange that so many people would be pedophiles. I mean I am not alone in that; the whle damn world hates them.

Again... paedophiles!

You have to giggle. The separation imposed by a "common" language. Actually, I am vaguely surprised that the same euphemism doesn't exist in America, but I'll take your word for it.

Oh yes, great idea. Only problem being that you've virtually got the whole story there! Close dancing is obviously a good, user-friendly theme as far as diving into an erotic mood is concerned.

You might want to consider a scene towards the end where the old couple stand in front of that "trophy cabinet", musing over past triumphs... or maybe at the beginning as an opening scene, with them asking each other if it isn't time for "fresh meat".

Would anyone mind if I suggested that there could be a gay version of this, either way, m or f, or both? Maybe a gay guy and a lesbian team up to give a "married" perception to people. I'm not sure what activity would be the focus - probably not dancing - but the focus would be on the seduction of youngsters (within the Literotica age restriction, of course).

I daresay most of the denizens here are straight men, but don't let that dissuade you if you have any story ideas that cater to an alternative orientation. Nearly any story idea can be spun in any which way and we encourage you to enjoy it.

Yes, come back to us when you've taken the thought further.

On the straight theme, I'd have this story stress the age difference thing as much as anything else. For me this is quite a hook and we've had some discussion about it recently on SI. More power to the oldies! A good imagined scene to have them each in bed with a young partner.

Ok, I've taken this away from the original premise more than a bit, so apologies. I'm wondering whether, for a gay scenario, this couple (m and f, both gay) could team up to buy a house with extensive outhouses/workshops and offer "old fashioned" skills training which would be gender-aligned.

This, it seems to me, might appeal to the conservative-leaning parents in a locality. Teenage males would be instructed in woodwork or DIY, while their sisters/girlfriends could receive lessons in dressmaking or maybe interior design. Something where there's a deal of sitting down together and, literally, hands-on instruction. Lots of teacher-bending-over-student's-shoulder stuff.

The same inviting back for individual help, as per the OP.

Yes, good proposal and welcome to the SI board.

There's considerable potential in your suggestion and one can imagine the scenes in the woodwork and sewing rooms after, maybe, an interesting drink is handed to the trainees.

Viagra in the one and rohypnol in the other..? Just as long as they don't get mixed up...

Personally I'd want this happening where the 'occasion' carries things along. Maybe just a small amount of alcohol, just to relax inhibitions..?

I'm not sure I'd want anything other than the "atmosphere" involved. Admittedly, it would be a difficult imaginative write to get straight partners to swing the other way suddenly. Maybe over a series of individual visits, rather than just the one?

as a man in 70’s we still have the same interests and desires as when we were younger . the challenges of age and from health issues may not allow us to be as “robust” as when younger, but we still want the excitement. the are story opportunities a plenty writing about seniors and their sexual activities with other seniors. The imagination and life experience just explode with story ideas. the intimacy between partners is at a higher level in general I think than the younger whose urgency for satisfaction, while fine, focuses on the end not the journey to get there.

Once upon a time, not only was it taboo for a man to ask a woman her age, but also to make any reference to it in mixed company (another expression that has to stretch so far these days as to make its original meaning almost quaint and the expression nearly meaningless).

Hence the circumlocution "of a certain age" to refer to older women (this might strike your radar as supremely ironic). These days, you'd have to be mimicking an earlier style of speech or even mocking it. I also do not believe it was often used to refer to a individual woman, if ever!

While it originated I know not where, my sense is that its usage persisted longest in the U.S. in New England, Georgetown (the D.C. neighborhood, not the university) and its final redoubt, the South, where I'd bet it still lives in pockets of extreme courtliness.

As with so much in once gender-rigid history (a history that has not ended throughout I daresay the majority of cultures), referring to a male (of any age, not merely a certain one 😉) in this fashion would not only not be done but if it were, the speaker would be scrutinized for other signs of dysfunction.

The expression "Boston marriage" shares much of the same history.

"Owned Couple" is also a thing.

Your mature couple is slowing down a bit and need replacements to continue the studio and tradition. The young couple, perhaps newly married is in their sights. Once 'hooked' they are invited (enticed?) into moving into the house. From there the older couple further takes over the younger couple and introduces them to various kinks and practices, sinking their teeth in ever deeper. The younger couple becomes essentially 'owned' and are trained to be able to inherit the business and the estate as a whole.

Love the idea…having done Argentine Tango, can certainly tell you it can be very sexual- I would emphasize the nuance of a dance partner on the dance floor and how it translates sexually; being a good lead translates in many ways.

I suspect in England... it is still going very strong over here.
