County Spelling Bee - good thoughts, please?

Luck! :rose:

My middle child has his first next week. He's been asking ME how to spell words (trying to trick me) for the past two weeks. He thought he had me with "psoriasis," but I disappointed him. ;)

Well wishes of good spelling (I on the other hand have been misspelling separate for decades).

Luck? Forget it. I'm sitting here with a dictionary and a telepathic transmitter. Your kid's gonna win, sarahh. ;)

Seriously, good luck to her.

Much much much luck to your little girl!! :) I remember the days of spelling bees and academic meets and the all-out nervousness that goes with them. She'll knock 'em dead!

:rose: x 12 for her and  for you!

I always reckoned that my mom was more uptight before these kind of things than me.

Spelling bees ,hell, even SATS - she always thought it was a mountain too high for her little girl to climb. Somehow I made it. It was just a game to me, I didn't know the odds; I just had adolescent faith.

The innocence of youth should never be spoiled or destroyed.

Good luck, luv.

Personally, I'm barred for any kind of spelling contest. They say I'm a bad influence on the contestants :(

Is there anything more difficult (and yet more satisfying) than watching as your children strive to overcome great odds?
It still leaves me in awe. To be allowed to see them grow, change, make decisions, live, succeed, and fall.

My daughter chants " push, and glide" in her sleep. (basic ice skating move) I have seen her fall so hard, There were times when I wanted to run accross the ice and scoop her little 5 year old body up and carry her to safety. But I know she will pick herself up.

Love and Light to yours :rose:

I wish the kiddo the best of luck.

Just one question: Why is it called a bee?

We're home! She did very well!

She didn't get knocked out until the 4th round - just missed being in the top 25.

We are thrilled - she did much better than last year! And most importantly, SHE is walking tall and smiling and already making plans for going further next year.

(Meanwhile, Mom and Dad are exhausted.)

Thanks, everyone for your good luck wishes!

:rose: :rose:
Congratulations to her then :rose: :rose:

Good for her!! Major congrats to her and :rose: :rose: for the both of you.

No matter the result, if she comes home with a smile, she's a winner. :)

Please pass along an early congratulations to next years winner

Sorry I wasn't more help, sarrah. I found out I can't look up the words in the dictionary if I can't spell them myself. And I haven't worked out all the bugs on the telepathic transmitter.

I believe some family in Indonesia is surprised that their kid can spell 'antidisestablishmentarianism'.

But yay for your daughter for doing so well despite my lack of help.
