Some of the older stuff and a lot of the outlaw/alt-country I like, I just sort of grin it and bear whenever they get religious or patriotic or promote other self-destructive behaviors. But, I've hated pretty much everything mainstream in the time since Garth Brooks came in vogue.
Or to put it another way, Hank Williams drank because he was in pain and couldn't get decent healthcare. Toby Kieth drank because the beer companies paid him to.
