Couldn't Sleep

elusive sleep
i cannot reach
ino restful slumber
oh how i long
to rest my mind
long the day
body weary
i lay me down
sleep doth not come
so i sit
i write
i ponder
things have happened
that cannot be changed
outcomes unknown
future unknown
though light is there
a certainty somewhere
that i seek to find
i feel it
know its there
when i am ready
it will find me
my path guided
by those close to heart
i know not my heart
from head
it leads me astray
they need be together
working side by side
not one over the other
may i find
my heart anew
it no longer feels empty
a fire burns within
growing ever brighter
each new day
a new start
ever forward looking

Was unable to sleep last night so I wrote down a few thoughts in lyric form. Not really looking for critiqe, just wanted to share and say hi. Thanks!
