CAUGHT IN A FLAT-OUT LIE. SO, WHAT’S NEW?
I pulled this out of today’s Best of the Web from the Wall Street Journal … it’s just too good to ignore.

In Condit’s interview with Newsweek Magazine we find this gem of a quote. Condit is discussing his relationship with Chandra Levy:

I never had a cross word with her. The kind of conversation we had would be--[when Timothy] McVeigh was executed and Juan Garza was executed. She seemed to have a lot of interest in those two things and a lot of more interest in them than I did. So she would talk about that.

OK, mighty fine. Gary and Chandra would discuss executions. Were these discussions before or after they discussed the Big Bang Theory? Inquiring minds, you know.

“Was that good for you?”

“Oh, it was wonderful! You’re such a stud!”

“Did you … you know … did you, uh, did the, you know, Earth move?”

“Oh, Gary, several times! Let’s do it again! Now!”

“Well, Chandra, we might have to wait a few minutes …..”

“No, I want more, now! I could find a younger Congressman you know.”

“Well --- let’s just talk for a moment, OK?
”OK”

“What do you want to talk about?”

“Let’s talk about executions!”

But --- Merced, we have a problem. It seems that Timothy McVeigh was executed on June 11, 2001. Juan Garza was executed on June 19, 2001. Chandra Levy disappeared on April 30, 2001. . One of two things has to be true here. Either Condit lied to Newsweek, or he’s seen Chandra since she disappeared.

Without reading the entire text, we would not know if the conversations were about the upcoming executions. Which is very likely what was meant. I seriously doubt that if she was alive after either of those two dates, that she would, not after all the hoopla surrounding this case, have already come forward.

Now don't go labeling me as some liberal who is out to make excuses for him, I do believe he has lied and should step down. I just think that it is quite possible that the context of that interview was edited to support whatever theory the person posting it wanted to get across.

And since that "interview" and theory has not been picked up by every media hound out there, I seriously doubt the statement was made leaving it open to have given the impression she was alive and in contact with Condit after either execution.

More slush from the Rush

Just more Clinton=Condit crap. And they throw in the plump Kennedy for good measure. Where's Henry Hyde's growing peccadillo (that "youthful" indiscretion, when he was 40?)....
