First of all, anyone who jumps off seventy-foot-high bridges is, almost by definition, insane. Second of all: 5.2 million TikTok fans? There must be a lot of bored people out there.

In any case, it's bizarre enough to perhaps merit a story loosely-based on the incident. I know I'm certainly not going to write it.

Those divers in Acapulco go either 100 or 135 feet depending on which ledge they chose. But they do it head-first. The world record anywhere is 192 feet. The George Washington Bridge is over 212 feet from the upper deck. Most suicide-jumpers go feet-first, which is much more dangerous. A handful of people have survived going off the GW Bridge, but most have not.

But, yeah, I wonder how many TikTok fans have been inspired to follow her example.
