It sounds like a far-fetched idea, but the former president appeared to express interest in starting his political comeback in the U.S. House during an interview with radio host Wayne Allyn Root on Friday afternoon. Root pitched Trump on the idea of running for a U.S. House seat from Florida next year and then seeking to become House Speaker should Republicans win the majority in the 2022 midterm elections.

From that position, Root said, Trump could "wipe" Biden out as the Republican leader and then run for president again in 2024.

"Why not, instead of waiting for 2024, and I'm hoping you'll run in 2024, but why not run in 2022 for the United States Congress? A House seat in Florida. Win big. Lead us to a dramatic landslide victory. Take the House by 50 seats," he told Trump.

"That's so interesting," the former president said. "You know, It's very interesting."

Members of Congress become millionaires, so that would appeal to him.

He changed his legal residence and everything, so he would have to run in Palm Beach County, not NYC.

He's less unpopular in Palm Beach than in NYC, but as with everyplace where people actually know him personally, he's not popular!

No. If he isn't the boss, he's not interested.

It is hard to imagine him adapting to a situation where he's only one vote among many, and too junior even to be seriously considered for any committee chairmanship.

The guy could've run for governor or senate before all of this, but he's not that type of person. He's a narcissistic megalomaniac who think's he's more special than everyone else because he's rich, which is why he only focused on the presidency for so many years before he finally ran for it. That mentality is also why he started bitching when he lost the popular vote in his first election, and why he went psycho when he lost the second election.

He will never go for a smaller office now that he had a taste of the big one.
