You make a valid point, JBJ, which none wish to acknowledge; the Democrats/Obama, will push for amnesty for all 12 million illegals, which will make them eligible for all social services offered.

However...(grant me that) I find an ethical dilemma, considering the fact that the US permitted non citizens into the country to do menial labor, and secondly, being aware of the living conditions in Mexico and Central America, these immigrants could justifiably seek political asylum, according to the Geneva Conventions, and be granted thus in all justice.

My response is: America isnt the first nation in the history of Earth to use guest workers. When I was in Spain many of the men worked in Germany. When I was a kid plenty of local girls travelled to New England to toil in the tobacco orchards. We lack the will to contain agribusiness' appetite for slave labor.

It's not a matter of either slave labor or political asylum. It's a matter of the Mexican Government using the US as their Welfare System. Mexicare offeres free preventive medicine and limited emergency services. Beyond that there are over crowded free clinics with waiting lists of 8-30 hours. There is no "Food Bank" that hands out free food. There are no Food Stamps. There is no Free Housing.

Go north, Amigo. Der you can have it all for free.

In Mexico they have a 'cargo' system whereby the wealthy acquire prestige and absolution when they throw a fiesta for the pueblo's peons. The padres bounce around like Barney and Miley, and think its wonderful.
