And it will! Unfortunately it requires you making a plot map of the entire story, brainstroming alternatives and tension points, and compiling lists of character traits to determine what conflict will best drive you through to the end. Also, some damned horse will try to give you planning and drafting advice.

I wish that my work for the day would do itself. Preferably roughly.

Granted ! You close yourself into a room and write. Finish every story and write 25 new ones. You spend so much time writing, never going to bed, as you can sleep when you're dead, your girlfriend leaves you as you got no time for her, after a month you feel sucked out, but the work is finished, sadly you cant enjoy this as you only see the work effort.

I wish I hadn't the stronge urge of being lazy like today (like most of my days...)
