So, has anyone else noticed that the copyright symbol has disappeared off of the new story page. On the old story page there used to be the © symbol behind the authors name. Is it something they forgot about or...

As of the U.S. signing of the Berne Convention (1986), the copyright no longer needed to be displayed in the United States. (The UK signed the Berne Convention long before then, so it doesn't have to be displayed in the UK either.)

Haven't noticed. I put my own copyright notice at the end of each of my stories out of habit, not that it's enforceable.

I put my own on anyway at the end of the story, along with my author name & date.

Using the copyright symbol is sort of like putting two spaces after terminal punctuation. Displaying the copyright symbol has meant nothing in the United States for thirty-five years--and longer in the UK.

Printing never put two spaces behind terminal punctuation and that went out when the typewriter gave way to the computer--how long ago? It was used in the typewriter era only because the typewriter couldn't handle what was really done in printing (like being forced to use the underline because the typewriter couldn't do proper italics).

Yes, I know all that. I was just mentioning it, not saying it needs to be there.

I too, place a copyright statement at the beginning of my stories. Now I might add them to the end also so the bots will get it one way or another. ;)
