The towers had stood for more than 50 years at the coal-fired power station, which closed in 2003, but power company E.ON determined they had to come down lest they become unsafe. The towers took only seconds to fall, but will take months to clean up. And it might take us at least a few days to stop watching the video again and again.

The change in atmospheric pressure from a large explosion can affect people well outside the blast radius. I've read where it has actually killed people well after the fact due to brain damage that ultimately results in a stroke. That might be bullshit though. Sorta sounds like it but then it doesn't.

I was pretty far away and felt the shock wave. I haven't been in combat, but have seen some of the IED explosions on Youtube. I can only imagine what that must be like. Seen in slow motion I can easily believe brain trauma death within a certain radius and after the fact.
