Handy little software download only took a few mins on dial-up.

Made the current Bernini in seconds , I expect a few AV changes in the next few days I always just played around in paint previously until Lit accepted a guesstimate size.

If you are diabetic and need a glucometer, I am currently using a Bayer Ascensia Contour model. This rascal is absolutely kick ass, holds 240 readings in memory (I can still go back and check readings back to 09/03 when I started using it), and with software you can DL from the Bayer site for free and a 9 pin serial port cable (that ain't free) you can download your readings into a data base on your computer. This stuff is da bomb for seeing how you are doing with your diabetes control.

Bayer is offering a FREE upgrade to the Contour (or Breeze model).

I chose the Contour because it's simple to use (insert the test strip, it turns on)
It requires a very small sample size (.6 microLiter)
It's fast (results in 15 seconds)
It stores and can dl the info into your computer. If you don't want to pay for the cable, you can manually enter the info into the program, and the program is FREE. You can DL the GlucoFacts software at:

My endocrinologist wants me to switch to a different meter (they can DL the info off mine, they've done it before) and even though the One Touch Ultra 2 is faster, it requires a bigger sample (1 microLiter). Bah!

Anyway, to get the free Contour, fill out the registration form. The stuff at the top says it's only available for users of Bayer Elite or Ellite XL meters but I didn't see anything asking for a serial number... *grins*

The test strips for the Contour aren't cheap, but they are cheaper than the One Touch strips. If you have health insurance, get your doctor to write you a new prescription for the test strips, those are usually covered with a co-pay.

Make-up and glucometers......I jest not .....these bits of information may assist people.

Interesting how far glucometers have come Geoff Sir , I remember a family members first. It was cumbersome ,barely fit in his briefcase. Now they are tiny and those dial up insulin pens aren't to shabby either.
