im not use to cooking food for just one i did too much spaggeti ... i think it would be too much even if there were two people :)

and there is enough bolonaise for 7 people (i made more on purpose though so i can freeze it)

still theres tons left on my plate i guess i will give it to the dog :)

i dont know how mums do it adjust portions depending on how many people are for dinner  i never see my mum measure anything and still she always gets it right

cant freeze spaghetti though :) (i've never tried anyway) ... i dont know what made me think i would eat a large saucepan full of spaghetti

No! Stick it in the fridge. It shouldn't freeze.

If nothing else, send it over to me.

:D

Of course you can freeze it... save it in single-sized portions, though, so you don't have to reheat the whole kit-n-kaboodle (Here at lit that may actually be a "kitten kaboodle" I suppose.)

You're expecting someone. I can tell.

The actual preparation of spaghetti is a sign that you are waiting for a special guest, maybe someone you want to be with.

When my friend went to his GF's house for dinner, she made him spaghetti. Her mother said, "That's what I made your father the first time I cooked dinner for him when we were dating."

They're engaged now.

the spaghetti is in the dog sorry i couldnt bring myself to save/freeze something that takes 10mins to cook :) ... the bolognaise is waiting in the pan till its cold so i can freeze it

phil i would say im waiting for someone but she wont be back till probably the week after next ... bolognaise is just one of the most easy things i can make that tastes good and i dont seem to mess it up :)

the first food i made my girlfriend was chicken kiev :)

Hey, I like veggie Yasai as much as the next person.

all my veggies were limp and soggy instead of crisp and succulent ... i over cooked them :)

myst you would be wonderful to cook for you say all the right things :)

i've been cooking for myself for a lot of years now and actually enjoy it. takes a little planning and using fresh stuff instead of canned lets you control portions better. i'm too damned cheap to eat out all the time and i'm not real big on the frozen dinner stuff so it's cook or starve.

i've been thinking for years about doing a cooking for one cookbook but that's just what i need right now, another friggin' project.

let me know if you want a couple of simple recipes and i'll hook you up.

i dont usually cook for one thats why im messing up all my portions :) but everyone is away at the moment so im on my lonesome and having to manage ... i do quite like cooking though even if its just for myself ... gives me some practice anyway ... i think my stir fry will be better next time :)

Have you tried taking notes while cooking? That way if something doesn't work well, you write it down and remember it for next time.

but i want to be good in that i never have to do measurements or time things like my mum :)

acutally i do time things and i do remember the times usually ... taking notes for the timings would be a good idea thanks april :)

If you ever decide to write that cookbook, let me know.
