Converting The Bisexual

I recently read Fag Hag by Robert Rodi. It's a novel about a handsome young gay man whose female friend is in love with him and secretly sabotages his relationships with men while trying to convert him to heterosexuality...without success.


Anyway. I am looking for a similar story. A woman who is in love with a gay or bisexual man and sleeps with him in the hopes of converting him.

Is there any story like that on this site ?

I certainly haven't read all stories in all sections, however, from what I have read there seems to be a surprising LARGE number of stories in the Gay Male section of gay men converting hetero men--or at least getting hetero men to give gay sex a try. These include a good number of stories of gay men luring hetero or bi men away from usually nasty girlfriend and/or hetero men seeing the light about how much better gay men are at oral sex...I mean, here's someone who's not only willing to suck their dick, but would LOVE to suck their dick. And swallow every last drop.

There *seem to be* however, few if any stories of women converting gay men, at least, so far as I've seen. I'm reminded of that one episode of *Sex in the City* where Miranda meets with two gay men who want to try hetero sex with her. Everything starts out fine until, while kissing her breasts, the two guys fall for each other. As for Miranda, the best thing they can think to say is: "They're very pretty," in regards to her breasts. It's clear that nothing about her really interests them

I rather think this would be a difficult story to write as (1) I'm not at all sure what a woman has to offer a gay man. It's not like he's interested in pussy or breasts. At best, he might be curious. (2) Realistically speaking, many gay men have already given women a try due to peers, society, religion or family pressure. Which means that many a gay man already knows what it's like to be with a woman. So in a story about a woman trying to "convert" a gay man, the woman would, realistically, likely get a "Been there, done that" response.

Not quite "on topic" for the story idea, and I apologize, but I wanted to add my two cents real quick. It seems many of the stories both in Lesbian and Gay Male are about "bisexuals" or some kind of "bi sex" instead of *true* gay sex between two women or two men.


As for this idea, I like it. I've been a "fag hag" (basically, a close "best" friend) to several gay men in my past. And there's been many I was attracted to! *sigh* lol I can certainly understand the POV of that female character!

While I've never written anything quite like this, I've toyed with some ideas of GAY "bi curious" people. (Why is it "bi curious" people are always hetero first?)

I certainly think that there are plenty of women who can identify with this even if they never did have a gay best friend--but rather just fell for a guy who was gay whether he was a distant object of affection (even, say a movie star!) or close (some cute guy in class). But don't you feel that *Will & Grace* has pretty much covered this subject from just about all sides? And how do you make the story interesting if it is from the woman's p.o.v.?

I can honestly say I've never seen one episode of Will & Grace. Is that the basis of the show? Grace has a "crush" on Will?

The basis of the show is that the two are the very best of friends, and the joy as well as complications of this friendship between relatively stiff, proper, reliable Will and the more implusive Grace. The two are beautifully matched (there's a marvelous episode of where they tango)--but the comedy/tragedy is that it can't ever be more than a perfect friendship.

The show has tackled the problems that both have with the fact that they *wish* they could be lovers, but it's just not possible. Will has had dreams about having sex with Grace, and we learn that some years ago the two dated (Will was in the closet), and Grace was sure they were going to marry. When Will confessed he was gay, Grace broke with him for a few years. The extra to this story is that Will had sex with a woman for his first and only time during those two years. Which hurts Grace when she finds out because he never had sex with her.

The show has dealt, humorously, with how W & G deal with each-other's dates and/or partners. Even the question of having children and wanting each other for the opposite-sex parent.

So, yeah, they've pretty much covered a lot of the complications in a best friend relationship between a straight woman and a gay guy, including the pain both experiences in not being able to consumate that relationship or make it more than best friends. In a way, it works so well as comedy, I think, because otherwise it's a real tragedy. You want your lover and life partner to be your best friend, after all, and it's terribly sad when, however much one of you might feel a sexual attraction, the other does not--and cannot.
