'The New Priest' thread made me think of a new Nun arriving at the convent only to find some strange ritualistic goings on that she didn't hear about while training.

Some rooms in the attic and basement with apparatus she had never seen before. The other Sisters wearing oddly altered Rosaries and the Mother Superior with an unusual glint in her eyes.

Could go more traditionally Wiccan, or maybe even supernatural if the writer was so inclined.

Tasty possibilities here. I would stick with pretty traditional Catholic stuff, though. There's plenty in perfectly historical Catholic practices regarding penance and scourging of the flesh to base pretty extreme practices on, and just add the amount of overt sex you find appealing. Given the amount of ignorance a Good Catholic Girl is supposed to be immersed in, it's hard to guess where your new nun might start to balk, if the other nuns are all acting like whatever is going on is just how their Order is supposed to behave.
Might make a good graphic novel...

There is a horror novel called 'Moonfall' by Tamara Thorne with this theme.

St.Gertrude's Home for Girls contains many subtle hints about its true nature and subterranean proceedings. Rosaries fitted with an upside-down crucifix are occasionally glimpsed behind heavy woolen garments. Gargoyles are seen missing from their perches at night...only to reappear at dawn. Mother Superior turns too quickly to reveal a flash of slick black heels! Ancient books written in unknown tongues are discovered in the library, accompanied by crude drawings that could only be described as...unholy!

It's been done:

A few lines from Operation Mindcrime to help set the tone of the story:

Father William saved her from the streets
She drank the lifeblood from the saviour's feet
She's Sister Mary now, eyes as cold as ice
He takes her once a week
On the alter like a sacrifice

Mary, Mary just a whore for the underground
