Does anybody know of any reason why the control panel has been changed. As far as I can see, there are no improvements and the new one is harder to use.

There have been improvements. They just fixed the download CSV for authors' statistics on the

I have no idea why the Control Panel was changed. However, you may like to refer to Sam Scribble’s Observation 23a:

Whenever any IT system is upgraded, it becomes less user-friendly

You may also like to refer to Sam Scribble’s Observation 23b:

The moment that the users get used to the new system, it will get changed again

I find the sort functionality is quite handy to see how my recent/highest score stories are going. You also get notifications of any new story posted by authors you have faved.

You can get used to the new control panel after a day or two, if you're willing. It's like any new software - folk always prefer the old version until they prefer the new version.

I felt the same was as the OP at first, but like the new version much much better now. More info and it's easier to find. You just need to figure it out.
