I agree with Jammies. I've yet to see a contest that everyone considered "fair" because all that's required to "prove" it unfair is not to accept the premise on which it is based. If you accepted it and it seemed fair enough to you, then that's all that's needed.

If, on the other hand, you have decided the contest is unfair, then you are right to withdraw. However, don't let someone else's complaints sway you.

Ditto. I entered one, won it, and I've never been inspired to write for one again. Not after being asked by someone on this board if I was absolutely certain I'd won. Not even prize money in the world to get me to enter another.

I reconsidered after a nights sleep and several messages. I'm undecided to the value of entering future competitions.

The only reason I enter competitions is coincidence.

I just happen to have a story appropriate for the contest at the time the contest occurs. Never deliberately write a piece to enter one.

My mind just doesn't work that way.

i won't enter this one, but generally i like contests because i get more reads that way... my non-contest stories have very few votes, some under ten, others just above, my contest stories have around 30 to 40 votes, so that is nice...

Competition is a nasty business, yet on Lit? Surprisingly, authors are (for the most part, but not always I have seen) fair. Nude day? Well I came across an idea in my mind recently, that had nudity involved (most sex stories do ). Nonetheless, it may inspire a great NUDE DAY story .... if you ask politely - LOL
